They are deep into luxury tax and repeater tax. It's why they traded wiseman last year. Saving his 15 million essentially saves them a ridiculous amount in luxury tax payments.
Don’t think that’s true at all regarding their current roster with now cp3. There’s been no mention of it by any of the known cappers. All have mentioned they’re much better off shedding the massive deal of Poole, which is absolutely true. They’re well under without his future salary
My thought process was more focused on Poole and all his future money leaving, opening up the flexibility to keep Draymond on a longer deal without worrying quite as much about the future tax bill.
Unless they upgrade their bench with reliable young legs, they're going to get run out of so many games next year. I would really enjoy that. And they'll get out-rebounded in most games to boot. I'm honestly starting to think this is a great day for us Warrior-haters.
Mike Dunleavy hard at work Destroying the Future of the Warriors. Johnathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Gui Santos are next, more Veterans wanted
Yeah, having watched Kuminga... I'm just not sure it's that exciting. CP3 distributing to Steph and Clay would be the best upside, and that CP3 could still (when playing) create his own shot late in the shot clock when Steph is resting.
Their road record might be less atrocious now if it was caused by chemistry problems between Green and Poole. They should try to sign Green for a fair contract and then test-run this team for half a year for old time sake and then blow it up if it's not working. Paul being there is going to be pretty surreal though.
I think they will. Said this in another thread GS will probably give another 1 or 2 year run and then fade away and start over. And even more so now that they don’t have to worry about a fat overpaid deal locked in
There was a fake Tweet that said Kuminga had grown 5" this summer. Kendrick Perkins believed it. I don't know what the heck happens in Golden State. Most likely, Paul is watching it unfold in street clothes.
Exactly my thoughts were they traded for Chris Paul to cut him so they could resign Draymond without having to pay a ridiculous luxury tax deal. Currently it's not bad cuz Draymond doesn't count against their tax bill yet,
It’s a good thing they don’t have tilman as an owner. Same can be said for pretty much the rest of the league
I just don't see how Chris Paul at 30 million makes sense to any owner. He's not a good player anymore. Age has finally got him.
I still have hope that Tyus Jones will hate it there and we have a chance to sign him as FA next year.
