Their roles will have to be altered for this to work and they both know it. Did you forget that Harden is a natural SG?
You can't trade for PG and sign CP3 outright without unloading Anderson. CP3 was the right move because he actually wants to be here and most likely wants that 5th year.
He didn't agree to either. No doubt he intends to re-sign here in a year, but they are no guarantees.
I wonder if not getting melo would effect this at all. I know he really wanted to play with melo so idk maybe he will bolt elsewhere to do that. I have a feeling morey told him that we would get him melo or a pg13 and we didn't get neither of them
Harden and CP3 take FA like a job interview Harden to FA, "so why should we allow you to join us. What do you bring"
Yep and this response is even dumber... What backfired? And who told you this is for one year? You know nothing
Soooo.... for a 1 year upgrade from PBev to a 32 yr old CP3.... it cost us a 1st rd pick, 6th moy runner up Lou, Trez, Dekker, and 20M in cap space....
And the Rockets got a lot better for it. CP3 allows James Harden to be more efficient while shooting the three ball at an elite level.
Quality over quantity. Talent trumps all in the NBA. We admirably tried one star and variance based shooting with lots of wing depth. It didn't work. Either you have multiple stars or you continue to watch the GS parades.
CP3 is under contract for 1 year... whats there to debate on that point? He may be around longer... but If CP3 hypothetically agreed to come here as a FA for 1/25M we could have saved assets... but if we were willing to give up all these assets to ensure he didn't hit free agency and pull a DJordan... how can u be so confident he signs the next contract? Unless its some obnoxious max deal for a then 33-36 year old...?
