Ah, yep, just saw that. How do they do the original trade in this cap season? Eg. the salaries don't match, right? Thought they basically had to wait until the official start of next offseason and do the original trade by absorbing the difference into their cap? I guess there's some other way. So if they are moving Ryno afterwards, I guess it'd be trade, either for George or Millsap (sign and trade).
They got Liggins to be part of the deal for Paul. We are essentially $2 million shy right now. Per Bima, we could combine Onuaku, Wiltjer and Taylor together to make the deal work. We could also be looking to make another small move like the Liggins deal to get another salary filler in here.
I hear you. But to the extent it's as much about what you're doing in those minutes as those minutes... Harden isn't exerting as much energy as a Klay type. He's just not. Minimal effort defensively. And offensively by being the lead guy, who is just running PnR over and over, it's not a ton of movement for him relative to others who are constantly moving. That said, I suspect its a mental "load" as much as a physical one. And all that said, even if you have 5 all nba guys, unless you have a bench, obviously everyone's MPG will still be very high.
I'm looking for full game archive of Rockets vs Hornets January 14, 2011. I was courtside and yelled, "CP3 to Houston" right behind CP3 as he inbounded the ball. He looked at me and grinned. I want this video clip so bad now <333333
@BimaThug needs to enlighten us. Are they doing the trade now, or waiting until next season starts and absorbing into the cap?
Now all of sudden, we have that in-between game yall complained about not having. With Harden sharing the PG with Paul, we can keep that gas pedal all game long. What a luxury.
You must be able to match up with GSW with their versatility. I think cp3 and Harden will find a way to work together. James is actually a good player off the ball. Cp3 is a better ballhandler and decision maker than Harden. Paul low to ratio leads to more possessions. If they can get George 1st, they can probably get Melo via trade due to his relationship with CP3. An alternate route might be Rudy Gay and combine that with Milsap. If the rockets can trot out cp,harden, gay, milsap, and whoever at center with Gordon off the bench, that's damn good.
If you have a solid starting core, even with a weak bench, you are able to rotate without having your entire offense collapse. On top of that, most games you will be ahead enough to sit starters in the 4th. Those miles add up, especially in the playoffs. The days of watching James basically wholesale collapse late in the playoffs after dumping 38+ MPG over a long stretch are hopefully over.
We got Chris farking Paul!!!! This is the type of move the Rockets absolutely had to make. None of the players traded to the Clippers, including our beloved Beverley, move the needle. Chris Paul absolutely does. My only concern is that he hasn't been healthy the last few years, but when he is on, dude is one of the best. Morey is not nearly done yet. One more big move, and things will get really interesting in Houston.
Paul gives us flexibility and 10 or so min high production that we couldn't have when Harden was off the court.
Well Nash was never known to be a good defender if I recall correctly. So Nash in his latter post 35 playing days, would you consider him a key piece on a championship team?
