    That's still our go-to play.

Except we had Sewer, Smoov, Outlawson, and Dwert along the 3 point line.

Ah, I see... yes, thank you.

Though I feel like I've seen EG run that actual elevator play before... but I guess not... it's always just one down-picker??

Well, there could be more action after that setting a pick for CP3... but it was less about CP3 really, and more about EG.

If Rose switches as he "should", KAT would be on EG. And I'd happily take EG out at the 3 point line in that situation. Or EG then picks for CP3 and now you have KAT on CP3, Rose on Ryan Anderson and Teague on EG. And its just guys defensively that have switched a lot now, more prone to make mistakes, and with mismatches in the Rockets favor.

Also, I put "should" in quotations, because you're right that it's just a play hunting for a defensive mistake, and perhaps/likely knowing that its DRose out there made it more likely to happen, but it's also just a well designed play likely to cause a defensive mistake. Did KAT recognize it and yell switch? Did anyone even know a pick was happening - I mean it barely was a real pick anyway.

Don't get me wrong, Dray/Klay guarding that and it likely turns into a different situation and am I happy with EG with the ball against Draymond, or Ryno at the 3 point line against Klay? No... though in that case hopefully that just means Steph is guarding CP3!

I mean, again, for the most part... sure. But I think it's actually legit off ball picking, creating off ball switching... which the Rockets SHOULD do more of. Hard to criticize an offense that works so well, but we know the playoffs are different. And I think they definitely should create mismatches with off ball switching more just so against great defensive teams they just have more variability.

Meaning again in this case, you either get an open guy because of that mistake, or a mismatch, because it is a switch causing PnR play.

Lin: "Alright, I'll be here and once my man rotates to help you can dish it to me to knock down the open shot"

rynos shooting form isn't pure.. it will either go in swish, or you will get a massively long rebound, he torpedoes it..
