And I said he shouldn't have hit him so how in the hell was I trying to protect him? That was what I heard if I'm wrong then I am wrong. People make mistakes damn.
From what I've heard, even Rondo's own teammates are often irritated by his punk behavior, and apparently after that incident Ray Allen personally went to the Hornets locker room and basically just stopped short of saying that he was embarrassed by Rondo's behavior. I still remember the day they came to Toyota Center (the game that ended the 22-win streak) -- Rondo was talking trash and getting into it with Rafer before the game even started, and continued throughout the game. And it doesn't surprise me that whenever hot-headed mouth-running point guards collide, you often end up with situations like this (Rafer versus Paul, Rafer versus Rondo, Paul versus Rondo). All three of those guys are punks to some extent, and Rondo is the worst.
okay, from some light digging: 1) the taunting occurred after the dick punch by a few drunkies for 5 to 10 seconds before they were told to stop and it never happened again 2) Paul makes no mention of Hodge saying anything close to that in his statements. PR wise, if Hodge did do that, Paul would be 100% justified in many many many people's eyes 3) Paul's later actions during competition have proven that this guy is a poor sport with a bad attitude and a willingness to get dirty when he's losing: Rafer, Bowen, Rondo, Harrington... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2007240 http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache...tml&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a Honestly, if Hodge really did make fun of CP3's recently killed grandfather, wouldn't that come out as fact in reports in this day and age? No way that becomes the afterthought excuse hearsay if there was any true credibility to it. So the reality is more like excuses by CP3 apologists for his punk-ass behavior. Look, he's a great player, but he's a punk. LeBron gets more heat than CP3 and LeBron has been much classier during his career.
I think Paul acts like a whiny little spoiled brat at times, and he does flop when he needs to. Rondo on the other hand seems to be a genuinely arrogant little b*stard.
He wants to be in a situation like Rondos. Surrounded by hall of famers. Why would he want to go to a team with 2 broken down stars?
I think he'd prefer that but he would take a team full of heart like the Rockets and who play hard every night..the opposite of the rest of the Hornets right now.
A little more insight into the little scuffle that happened at the game: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-paulhornets110309&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Rondo taunted CP3 about winning a championship, big frigging deal. Last year, CP3 taunted Rafer for not being an all star, and his coach Byron Scott taunted Jerry Stackhouse with his rings from playing with the primetime lakers. I don't remember Rafer and Stackhouse following either one of them to the locker room for a HO down. Trash talking is part of the game, Jordan one of the best players ever had a PhD in trash talking, while Sam Cassel and Gary Payton were grandmasters. I don't remember any one of them getting shot for trash talking. CP3 is a dirty player, and flops at every contact. Pus he is practically allowed to do whatever he wants by his coach and owner, and when he doesn't get the same treatment from other, throw girly fits. If Ray Allen truly apologized to him after the game, then Ray Allen betrayed his team mate, I don't remember Allen apologizing to all those point guards, undersized shooting guards and foreign players that Garnett "tries" to punk on nightly basis
And going from looks, Rondo looks like he is from that part of town that your mom warns you not to be in after 12pm, while CPno-rings looks like he has been a token black guy his whole life. You figure out who will win. Also, I heard CP3 b****ing about not being surrounded by good players. Then I look at his squad and look at the squad Kidd took to the finals 2 years in a row, the squad Lebron has continually overachieved with, the horrible squad Kobe used to be stuck with, Melo's knuckle head before Billups, the post-marbury squad with Nash, and then I look back at his squad again and this dude has no reason to be complaining. While his team might not be NBA champions worthy, they are not bad either, and should be better than they are now. C- Emeka Okafor- won a championship in college, #2 overall pick, and several collegiate accolades PF- David West- all star SF- Julian Wright- 2007 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament and several other collegiate accolades SG- Morris Peterson- probably the only iffy starter but he is backed up by Posey PG- Chris Paul- All universe first team pg Bench Stojakovic Posey Hilton Armstrong etc (although not too bad when compared to other teams) Although, if he had a problem with the way management was managing the team, why the hell did he sign a contract extension
Sounds like his problem is with the cheapness of the ownership: that team has terrible facilities and a minimum of scouting and resources. There was a youtube video awhile back where Paul was making some trick shots, you can see from the vid that the Hornets' practice facility is very poor. But you're right about Paul signing the extension. He didn't have to do that, he knew about the owner's problems before he signed the extension.
Yea, I read that article on Yahoo written by Adrian Wojnarowski (I will always get him confused with Gene Wojiechowski who writes for ESPN and rides Brett Favre's jock like you wouldn't believe) and it just confirmed what I have thought the last couple of years and that is Rajon Rondo is one of the biggest punks, maybe biggest punk in the NBA. Include the fact that he plays on the same team as assclown Garnett and it is little wonder why I hate the Celtics so much. Pierce is a thug and Perkins is a complete joke. The only one on that team that has any class is Ray Allen. I would like to see Rondo and Perkins switch places with Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler and see if they could lead the Hornets to the Finals, let alone a playoff berth. Those 2 jackasses are extremely lucky to be playing with 3 possible future HOFers.
Agreed. Mostly. I would go further in "punk" theories: Punks as teamates make your potential of being a punk utilized. Rondo playing with punks? Garnett, Perkins. Check. Paul playing with punks? West. Check. Alston is just trashtalker IMO.
