I didn’t make a statement. I asked a question that concerns me. I still believe this team will be the 2 seed. I just think CP3 doesn’t look as elite as he did last year in the playoffs.

I hope it’s due to team chemistry

Paul’s playing more minutes this season then he did last. Just ridiculous management of a 33 year old star, his minutes should be reduced to 30 MPG on avg if we want to extend his career.

is this confirmed by scientific data or just an educated guess from your side?

He always had a lot of miles on him, and MDA is asking a lot of him. For him to be the guy we need him to be when we need him they need to manage his minutes better.

Melo and MCW look "die". Ennis and Clark played terrible defense and offense last night.

It is okay to rest him once every 8 games, but do not rest too much.

    rest 10 games = 50 wins

    rest 20 games = 45 wins

    rest 30 games = 40 wins

I think his minutes will decrease once Brandon Knight is healthy. Right now we have no backup PG and is EG playing like garbage.

It's called a contract year. Bonzi Wells knows it better than anyone...

Chris Paul is not Nick Anderson. And fine there are exceptions to the rule.

He does look one level slower and less effective overall. He's always wanted to settle for 3s in his iso's, but I guess he hit them at a good enough clip to justify it. This year he does seem to be more inconsistent with the shot (prob the injury), while still trying to "save" his bursts for when he really needs them, just like he did last year.

Last year when he came in the game with 2 min left in the first and for those first 4 minutes of the second quarter, we consistently gained a positive plus/minus with him and gordon splashing 3s and taking advantage of inferior bench units. This year just seems like a struggle overall. Some games he emulates similar performance (like the first detroit game when he was not missing his midrange from the pick n roll), but others he just looks slow, fatigued, and dying to rest his legs.

I really do think our rotation blows, and we're playing him way too many minutes (he's up to 35 a game instead of 32). His minutes should be declining as he ages, not the other way around. We desperately need something from guys like Gordon, Green, and hopefully knight when he comes back. Last year our second unit boasted CP, EG, Ryno splashing 3s, and later Gerald Green. This year is just a struggle overall.

Must we continue to be beset with this constant paranoia? Of course Chris is getting older. He's also still incredibly talented. If he looked a bit slow at times late in the game, consider his minutes. Chris played 37 minutes in an overtime game. He averaged a hair under 32 minutes per game last season, which is what he should be averaging now, in my opinion. So what is he averaging this season? Almost 37 mpg. If there is a "problem," and I'm highly skeptical that one exists in his case, it's the minutes he's playing, in my opinion.

We need a good backup for him, badly. If Morey has faltered filling out the roster this year, it's Chris not having a good backup. We managed without one last year and shouldn't have. We need a good backup this season even more, yes, due to Chris being a year older. I'm far from being the only member here who believes that a good backup 1 should be Daryl's biggest priority. I know that Brandon Wright was intended to be that player and he's still out indefinitely with a knee that hasn't recovered, yet, from off-season surgery.

To make matters worse, Wright suffered a setback by having an infection in that knee during his recovery. Bad luck? Are we ever lacking in bad luck? Not often enough. We can't afford to wait on Wright for weeks on end, in my opinion. Surely there's someone out there that could fill that role, at least until Wright makes a full recovery. Someone we wouldn't have to sell the farm in order to acquire. Fingers crossed. I just hope Wright doesn't end up being like last season's Wright, who apparently disappeared into another dimension, gone forever into the ether. It's creepy how similar their names are. Freakin' creepy, in my opinion. Weird juju.

Sorry for the screwup, aroundtheblock2! I was doing too many things at once and found myself confused by the similarity of the two names, obviously. Dazed and confused!

He did focus too much on the name Brandon Wright, likely Brandon Knight.

My bad! Apologies to aroundtheblock2! It's what I get for trying to do too many things at once. I'll edit the post.
