I wanted Durant and might still want Harden because they are cheap "stars" to get without emptying our cupboard. I want to keep our young core together AND keep the assets. The only players I am dishing up serious assets for are Luka and Ant. That isn't happening so I am not rolling up several picks for someone like Booker when he is not worth more than Jalen Green when you compare the player and contract.
This is the comparison that gives me pause THIS! They are stars that would cost us little to nothing esp as far as player movement We may b*tch about Harden's clubbing no one ever said he wasn't a gym rat Rocket River
Beal is quietly having an efficient season as a scorer. He's not a bad player, just overpaid. Been the default scapegoat this season when the real problem is their roster construction sucks and they have no depth.
If you watch the game Corey Brewer dropped careee high 50+ pts against Rockets, you possibly think Brewer is superstar while Harden is a trash player. Come on. It's just one game.
the Suns have already given up on the season Booker doesn’t even look like he’s trying anymore that PHX team is broken
I'd rather pick up Durant on the cheap and keep our core together, instead of having to give a Godfather package to get Booker.
Booker had a decent game. However the fact is he is making a super max and they are about to miss the playoffs and they have a healthy Beal and KD. Which other superstar will miss the playoffs in that scenario while supposed in their prime? Like James Harden got 3rd seed with Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon. Lebron got to the Finals with a team that started picking top 4 lotto when he left. There is no excuse for Booker.
You just simply can't wait for the perfect player to come around. I wouldn't dismiss Booker but add him the available targets.
They are the precursor to Dallas Take a championship team and totally dismantle it They did it over the course of several seasons Dallas did it in one trade Rocket River
I don't really want Durant. He doesn't fit our timeline. But like some people say, if we don't have to give up a lot of assets to get him, then why not. That said, I think it's just wishful thinking that we can get him without giving up at least one promising young player and at least part of the Phoenix picks. That would be too expensive to me. Also, Durant would totally change the rotation. 2 maybe 3 young guys would likely get less minutes and people wouldn't be happy about it.
Booker would be downgrade long term. He is gonna be 30 next year and he is making the super max. We dont need the perfect player but he shouldnt be overpaid like Booker.
Is he really that much of an improvement from Green? My guess is they'll want a Rudy Gobert type package, and I don't think he's worth it. At the right price, sure, but not for Sheppard, Whitmore, JS10, and their picks back. No way.
Booker will turn 29 at the start of next season and be 30 at the start of '26 season. I'm not really worried about Booker's performance this year as clearly the roster construction and coaching of the Suns is abysmal. But yes, clearly Booker's age is biggest knock and his potential next contract I think Booker fits a major need we have. Is he a 28 year perennial MVP candidate James Harden type of player? No. Again I think the Rockets should consider Booker an option but be sure to explore options. Personally, I would rather go after Anfernee Simons than Booker but just think it's unwise to not consider Booker. The Rockets can go a lot of directions with their war chest this offseason and we still have more evaluation to be done on the current roster. Playoffs will be illuminating.
Let's turn this into a 3 team deal where Booker/KD picks go to Minny, Green/filler picks go to Phoenix, and you-know-who comes to Houston from Minny. Shoot for the moon Stone, getterdone and pull that rabbit out of your hat. Now pardon me while I get back to sending vibes of disgruntilization to Ant... I'm doing my part, time for ya'll to get on board, I need all the help I can get.
He's a real good player ..... but there is absolutely NO value in that contract. He just isn't a needle mover and will never play up to the 35% max.
I don't believe it. Most of these articles / videos on the subject are clickbait / opinion / made up shiit.
See, this is how people are underrating him. I totally get how his contract was bad. But if he "isn't a needle mover" like you said, how did he lead his team to the Finals (and won 64 games the next season) with a 35-36-year old CP3 as their second best player?
