Philadelphia, Cleveland, and LA all seem much more likely than Houston.

it's not a realistic option because of all the moves that needs to happen in order for LeBron to come to Houston

    1. He would have to opt into his contract
    2. Dan Gilbert would have to oblige and agree to trade him to Houston, which he doesn't have to do because LeBron doesn't have a No Trade Clause (he could pull the ultimate dick move and trade LeBron to Brooklyn or Charlotte) corrected by JR
    3. The Cavs would need to get some sort of compensation back that makes sense from a basketball perspective and a PR perspective
    4. Morey will need to include other team(s) to take on toxic waste contracts

I dont see why Lebron would go to Philly. Philly is all hype... Embid is made of glass and can barely stay healthy, Fultz & Simmons both missed their rookie year from injuries, Simmons cant shoot worth a ****. If I was lebron I wouldnt put all my money on a whole bunch of kids who can barely stay healthy a full season

Lebrons got like 5 years left in him and Houston is the quickest way to a championship

Lots of moving pieces and what if’s in that scenario. Other teams could simply not trade with Houston and stop that scenario.

I believe he does as well but that doesn’t make the scenario any more likely imho

Well, trade Lebron to the West while getting something (even if not great) back is still better than having him stay in the East while getting nothing back, but that's just me.

It's incredible how bad (and dangerous) aggregation can be. Feigen didn't report that going after LeBron or PG was unlikely. He reported it was unlikely they'd go under the cap to sign them. Here's the complete transcript, from the linked article:

Somehow, the author of the NBA.com aggregation piece translated that to "Feigen also reports that the Rockets are not expected to be in the running for standout free agents such as LeBron James (should he opt out of his contract) or Paul George."

It is remarkable how difficult reading comprehension and basic CBA stuff is for some "reporters."

Very true. Have to be VERY careful when reading these second hand reports.

First thing that cp3 said when he came to houston was to eat Pappadeaux, we need cp to tell lebron that Pappadeaux is the real deal.

LeBron strikes me as the type of guy to say "I see myself in Ben Simmons, and that's why I chose to come to Philly. I feel like I can teach him and Embiid how to be a winner."

You know that cheesy stuff would be coming. ;)

    Based on what exactly?

I am not saying LeBron James will end up with the Rockets because the truth is that right now it is likely that no one knows where James will end up, including James himself.

However I will point out that if you look at James' own comments about what it takes to beat the Warriors in his eyes, the Rockets fit well. He recently discussed the importance of playing with smart elite players, good passers and a group that gels well. That fits the Rockets better than anyone out there.

Also ask yourself this, is there any team out there, that he would join, that would give him a better shot at winning titles the next 2-3 years? The answer is no. The Rockets team last season with James added would possibly be the best team ever assembled.

Cleveland is his home, and that is a huge influence but as a basketball spot he knows they are not winning a title the next few years. He recently said as much. The Sixers are young, and they lack shooting from Simmons, who cannot play off the ball. Embid is very good, but there are concerns there. Would James on the Sixers beat Boston?

As for LA, who does he take with him to LA? Paul George isn't exactly the image of what James said he wanted in a teammate....... a high IQ player that can pass the ball well. Would James in LA beat Houston or GS? I don't think so.

We will see what happens, and it is a long shot for every team......... no one should expect LeBron will be a Rocket next year, but no one should be shocked either. The Rockets have as good a shot as anyone.

I will be shocked if he leaves the East. The path to finals is much easier over there.

Listen to his finals press conference. You’ll hear a lot of foreshadowing

I have a feeling we move Ryan Anderson to Atlanta. Looking at that roster, it's screaming "Tankfest 2019 Tour".

Amen and it doesn't hurt that we have one of the best GM's in the league and probably the most player friendly owners in the NBA.

Don't ever doubt Morey. People probably thought the same thing with CP3 last year as well
