The only way Dirks comes to Houston is if he finds out Cuban is banging his mom and he wants revenge.

Actually daeyth, how much do you watch Dirk besides when Dallas play Houston?

I have been in Dallas for almost 20 years now and i'm looking at Dirk from the total package...

    Dirk is a 6'10 Guard.... basically a taller T-Mac...

Dirk can shoot and when he's on he can put up some great numbers offensively...

Dirk is weak on defense... He plays a lot of Matador Defense..

Dirk does not have any toughness... When things get tough Dirk does a Houdini act...

Everyone talks about him going to the Finals... Well if you want to send thank you cards.. send them to Jason Terry...

Dirk likes the spot light, but not the responsibility..

Now I never choose Bosh, but at the same time Dirk is a FACADE....

Facade means fake and you can't fake stats. Career: 22 PPG, 8 REB, 38% 3PT. His fade away at 7 ft is unguardable.

Dirk's a tall T-Mac? Jason Terry is the reason the Mavs got to the finals? Oh boy...

Dirk had better playoff stats than Terry in nearly every single category. Not only did Dirk average 9 points more than Terry but Dirk shot a better FG/3PT % than him as well.

    First yes... Jason Terry....

In the year they went to the Finals it was the Jet that was taking the big shots...

In Dallas Dirk is known for his disappering act during the playoffs...

Dirk may have a good game here or there, but he will be missing in action when the game is on the line.....

I've said this before.... Please stop looking at stats, they don't tell the entire story.

For the record i'm hoping they pass on Dirk and Bosh...

Dirk is opting out, probably because this will be his last big contract. That being said Cuban could be looking elsewhere I know Dirk is the Hometown Hero but So Nash. Dirk hasn't worked Yet,their team is getting old quick. So you never know. Personally if I was Cuban I would Do everything in my power to get Dirk back because the guy is a Beast.

The Rockets with the Starting Five of Brooks, Martin, Nowitzki, Ariza, and Yao. That would be deadly! Imagine having to matchup against that in the Playoffs are you kidding.

I know all the naysayers would say the defense would suffer but would it really. Two Seven footer patrolling down Low and two stick fingered guards and a Ariza. Plus the pressure they would put on you offensively would be defense in itself.

As much as I hate Dallas and anything to do with that city, the answer to this is still Dirk by a mile. It's not even close! Too bad there's no chance in hell that Dirk would be signed and traded to Houston by Dallas. We have a better shot of landing Lebron and Bosh together than trading for Dirk IMO.

Chose Bosh because he's younger... but I wouldn't mind having Dirk one bit. Both are great players.. Nowitzki's more of a first option though.

No thanks to Dirk, he's soft and weak.

Bosh is considered to be soft as well but nothing beats the softness of Dirk Nowitzki.

    Softer than:

He will never lead a team to anything without another leader to lead him.

JT did suck it up this year, but I was referring to the year they went to the Finals.

But if you go back and look at the game film it was Butler and Haywook who were the main key this year. When Dallas was down and Carlisle decide to sit Dirk, it was the Matrix, Butler and Haywood that did the dirty work to get them back in the game, but it was Dirk who came in and got the credit.

Dirk can shoot I will give him that, but he's not a big time or pressure player.

    hell ya to dirk

    Sources: Nowitzki to opt out

The Dallas Mavericks are expecting star forward Dirk Nowitzki to opt out of his contract late next month and become an unrestricted free agent July 1, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com.

The Mavericks, though, continue to negotiate with Nowitzki on an extension in hopes of convincing him to preempt his free agency. They remain confident the leading scorer in franchise history will stay with the only NBA team with which he's played, even if Nowitzki winds up joining the most anticipated free-agent class in league history

The sides have until the end of June to reach a deal to keep Nowitzki off the open market, but sources told ESPN.com this week that it's more likely -- with free agency less than 40 days away -- the nine-time All-Star becomes an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

    Yao + Dirk+ Martin+ Brooks= CHAMPIONSHIP

This is a tough one, because there are so many variables involved. With Dirk, you get more of a scorer, but he's older, and not a "dominant presence." If Yao's healthy next year, I would take Bosh, but if he's not, I'd take Dirk to fill the scoring hole that Yao has left behind.

I voted Dirk but he opted out to tack on more guaranteed years in Dallas.

I can't believe how many Dirk fans there are here. I hate that whiny, soft, choking nazi more than anybody in the league.

Further, he's getting old. Why would anybody pick him over a 24/10 guy who is only 25 years old?

Yes, Dirk is such a weak loser. Down 3 in Game 7 to the Spurs in the WCF, he converted an old-fashioned three point play to send the game into overtime and eventually win. Such a softie...

I really like Dirk, but he looks like an idiot in that picture (and in many others) :). Would love to see him on the Rockets, but it will never happen. Only way I could see it would be in a three-way with Toronto, with Bosh going to Dallas, and even then I don't think Cuban would allow it to happen.

I would never want a guy that is the leader of a team that had the best record in the league and wins the MVP but gets sent home by the 8th seed team in the first round of playoffs.

    NEVER.

I don't care if his name was Lebron "The Magic Bird" Jordan.
