Definitely not coke. It gets out of your system quicker than anything else from what I understand. It's very hard to get caught on a urinalysis. Most likely meth or an opiate of some kind.

I hope the NBA has something in place to help him get treatment.. odds are he didnt save any money and could keep his drug using going and end up worse than he was.. I agree that he is totaly stupid, but you dont want to see a person end up dead from this..

Here's hoping it was PCP. If I was going to have to guard Shaq all night, I'd DEFINITELY want to get dusted. Dip me up a Stick, Chris!!

Peterman: Elaine, you're out of control. You need help.
    Elaine: Huh?
Peterman: I know what you're going through. I too once fell under the spell of opium. It was 1979. I was travelling the Yangtzee in search of a Mongolian horsehair vest. I had got to the market after sundown, all of the clothing traders had gone, but a different sort of trader still lurked about. "Just a taste," he said. That was all it took.
Elaine: Mr. Peterman, I don't know what's going on here. I am not addicted to anything.
Peterman: Oh, Elaine. The toll road of denial is a long and dangerous one. The price? Your soul. Oh, and by the way, you have til' 5:00 to clear out your desk. You're fired.

This is really disappointing. Birdman is a good guy. I have season tickets right next to the home tunnel and I have talked to him on a few occasions. I wish him well. That said, my guess is meth. Oklahoma is the meth capital of the world.

I'd have to say if he was on meth he probably wouldn't be playing all that well. I'd to think coke but thats 72 hours out of your system, but he could have just been very unlucky.

Pretty much all of those get out of the system pretty fast. i would also think Morphine or codeine because of the benefit of pain relieft. there weren't reports of him missing practice and his team seemed surprised so i think it was more bad timing than a serious problem

Coke, Heroin, Opium, Meth, PCP, LSD, MDMA, Alcohol and pretty much every drug not named "mar1juana" are no longer detectable in your system by blood or urine test after 3-4 days. LSD is never detectable by conventional methods.

What if he was sick and he bought some over the counter cough syrup from some 3rd world country that contains codeine?
That happened to my friend once...he took some Vietnamese cough syrup cause he was sick ... didnt know it even contained codeine or what codeine is and failed a drug test at work :D :p ....true story

    It can't be mar1juana.

He's never been publicly suspended or fined for mar1juana and even being suspended 5 times for it wouldn't result in a 2 year ban.

It has to be a hard drug: cocaine, heroin, etc.

Maybe it WAS coke, and he figured they wouldn't randomly give him a drug test in those 72 hours, but got unlucky.

So the Hornets have a roster spot open.

    And Spreewell needs a team.

Not gonna happen, but it's amusing to think about.

It seems like everybody is assuming his drug use was casual and he'd have had to been very unlucky to get caught if the drug can't be detected after 72 hours, but what if he had a serious problem? He can certainly afford to be coked up non-stop if he wants to be, and if you're on coke every single day, it's definitely going to be detected.

    Either way, he's an idiot.

if andersen never had tried drugs he probably wouldn't have done them this season. it's easy for you to say why can't he stay clean considering you've never done drugs.

i do agree it was a boneheaded move but it's not always so black and white.

Chris was my best friend in college. He is a great guy and for all the years I have known him he has not had drug issues. The only thing I have ever known him to do is smoke. Things could have changed though. The last time I saw him was about 1 1/2 years ago when he got me tickets to the game when the Hornets were in town. This is extremely surprising to me. We didn't have money back in college to buy stuff like coke etc. so I can see how the new found money could have given him access to stuff we didn't have before and that could have been his downfall. I thought it would be for smoking way before anything like this. Completely stupid move by a good guy. :(
