I hope there is a Moochie version of the Chinese billboard... Also, I think the Chinese letters are a little too small... maybe all the white space can be filled either with a bigger picture or bigger letters...
where will the chinese posters/billboards go up? if they're gonna be posted in Houston, there might be some problems, cuz.... the majority of the chinese population in houston are from hong kong and taiwan, and they don't read simplified chinese...
For those who have asked, we just got confirmation that the Chinese version of the Yao Ming billboard is scheduled to go up tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon on 59 @ Wilcrest. The board will face west. The schedule assumes we stay relatively rain-free between now and tomorrow, of course. Tim McDougall Vice President of Marketing Houston Rockets and Comets timm@rocketball.com
On the way home from work tonight, I caught the chinese version of the billboard with Francis flying in for a dunk. Almost got in a crash after I got excited seeing it.
I've seen 3 Rockets billboards... 1) (English Yao) Driving eastbound on I-10 just past Barker Cypress before Hwy 6 2) (English Mobley) Driving southbound on Hwy 6 near Memorial 3) (Chinese Yao) Driving northbound on Hwy 59 at Wilcrest
Okay, W&S, first off, like everyone else, I really appreciate your pics and articles that you post. Maybe this has been covered in another post that I missed, but I assumed you were somewhere across the Pacific. Your profile doesn't list your location. ( A pet peeve of mine...most people don't tell us where the're from...) How did you scoop the pictures of the Houston billboards? You are in Houston?
Thats exactly what I was thinkin when I saw those pics. I guess he/she is the mystery member right now.
If you check the properties of these pictures, you can find that they are from sina.com. Since they stole the Clutch's article last time, I decided not to give the link of these pictures. They were taken by a reporter of "American Chinese Times" (mei zhong shi bao), a Chinese newspaper of Texas.
