It was definitely eye opening back in the Yao days on Clutchfans with first mass interaction with Chinese fans -- they are sensitive to perceived slights against their country/ culture. Not saying it's right or wrong it's just the way they handle it and that isn't going to change -- China will always fight to put their country in the best light even on small issues that we might not really understand. Anyway this is old news -- movies have long been tweaked before release in China (and other countries) fairly recently a movie was pulled from China because of a joke that was considered insensitive.
Forget the chinese gov, tencent already owns 4-5% of tsla. Their games are already in the entertainment system, but tencent's biz goes well beyond that - payment, cloud, music, etc. Only a matter of time.
Tencent also owns the rights to the nba in China They fund movies too Basically a government sponsored entity instead of diverting other issues of China , this thread and video was meant to show that movies weren’t really faithful to the original content was forced to be altered for pandering. there were tons of Tencent ads at Toyota center
I see it as mutually beneficial. Hollywood makes more $, reduce the trade deficit a little bit lol. Chinese distributors get more ticket sales, velocity of $ increases, everyone wins. Pander away! tencent's backing likely helped tsla get established in China so quickly, scale makes recovery of r&d costs faster, next model can be cheaper for all tesla buyers, etc.
Basically Wanda Vision is about China Wanda is China and Hollywood is basically everyone in the Hex Monica Rambo is the lone american hero
Also Parasite and Old Boy and while they're at it to learn about French Culture should watch Snatch and The Crown.
The OG Old Boy, not the Spike Lee remake Glad to see somebody has culture I know the D&D is trying to be cancel culture, but really they got no culture that's why we're here to add the intellect and culture and supremeness 99
