Yao is made for 5, don't you think?

He is a pure center stuff. BTW, I don't believe he will be pushed around. Everyone is going to have problem when pushing a 300 pound mass who happens to be 7"5 tall.

I am Chinese and Houston just stole my heart with Yao.

I hope I can see Yao playing Shaq in one of the NBA matches. Must be very interesting.

    kagekazema,

I have a couple of questions:

    1) Have you seen Ming play against strong competition?

    2) You probably know something about the NBA in the US. Do you think Ming will be able to hold his own against some of the bigger, stronger players here (Shaq, Garnett, Tim Duncan, etc.).

Thanks for logging-in. We love Ming and are excited to have him in Houston.

Do any Chinese fans know what the score of the basketball game was between China & Italy today?

How did the big man do also?

I watched many CBA games and some china international tounaments. Yao is a HERO in our league. everyone over here is proud of him.
I think maybe he played not much against true strong competition. And huh... I just a little worry about him. I also usually watch the NBA games. actually, many of our people love to watch it. So I know the cruel competition in NBA.
I'm not sure if Yao is ready now. He must adapt himself to the different culture and the higher competition at first. But I trust him! He'll handle this well.

About this morning's game (from Netease BBS):

    1. China lost to Italy: 71: 88

post 2: Only Yao played OK in China team, all others sucked.

post 3: Yao played very well, esp. for passing and blocks. but 2, 3, 4 sucked. 1 was OK.

Post 4: Bateer did not play due to injury.

Guilin, in Southern China, is gorgeous. A trip down the Li River to Yangshuo is one of the most beautiful things you can do in China.

I worked there for a summer in 1994.

Welcome to the board. It is really exciting to have a Chinese fan base developing here.

I wonder what happened to the poster who had the username "chinese". I'm surprised I haven't seen him post on Yao Ming.

    GO ROCKETS!! GO YAO MING!!
