The downside to the building is that nobody can breathe heavily while standing in front of it.

Dude, your signature takes up more than 16 lines of screen... plus you have stuff misspelled in there. Have you considered attending my free Signature Remodelation Seminars?

One thing I don't want to go up in a hurry for bragging rights? A tall building in an earthquake zone.

For those idiots who made fun of the building that it will collapse, read this news. It just happened in India yesterday. Tragedy like that costs human lives. 65 people dead already. Do you still find it funny now? You are a heartless mofo if you find catastrophe like this funny.

Building collapse in India leaves at least 65 dead

New Delhi, India -- The toll in the collapse of a five-story residential building in the Indian capital, New Delhi, climbed to at least 65 dead on Tuesday, officials said.

About 80 other people were injured in Monday's collapse, said New Delhi's fire-service chief, R.C. Sharma.

Emergency crews were still sifting through the rubble, after having pulled out people dead or alive, said New Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia.

Officials worried that the death toll might rise to 70.

Video from the scene showed residents digging through debris with construction equipment. Rescuers carried dust-covered victims to waiting vehicles.

The building apparently collapsed because its foundations had weakened after exposure to water from this year's heavy monsoons, said City Municipal Spokesman Deep Mathur and Chief Minister of New Delhi Sheila Dik****. The structure was situated closely to the Yamuna River, which flows through New Delhi.

"I believe it's an unauthorized building," Dik**** said. "I believe there was water in the bottom of the basement for many days."

She expressed sympathy for the families of the dead and promised to "inquire into the causes of the tragedy."

Encroachments on public land, illegally built structures and the use of residential buildings for commercial activities are common in New Delhi, which is home to about 17 million people. The weak enforcement of laws and corruption are generally blamed for unauthorized building.

Ummm..who here suggested it would be funny. People are making fun of how ridiculous it is...but I don't think anyone here thought the tragedy of it actually falling would be funny....only funny that someone would brag about constructing a building that way.

As MadMax said I don't think anyone was actually hoping it would collapse. This is more about what seems to be some fairly exaggerated claims made about the building.

being a civil engineering major, i find this incredibly awesome....we are doing the same thing but with a scale model steel bridge...it's prefab steel members designed to take the applied loads and they are assembled to form a bridge at a timed competition against other universities in texas....

I wouldn't 'predict' a building to fall. I don't think you would either.

Just like I wouldn't say I 'predict' another copper mine accident in Chile to happen again after I saw the tragedy in Los Reyes on Nov 8. The poster is a heartless mofo if he posts a picture of the collapsed Chilean copper mine and then say he predicts another mine will collapse again.
