My friend's wife is Filipino. She is a great person but she is pretty superstitious. She seriously believes a Filipino's poo smells better than a white person's.

Ny friends and I used to say Jap all the time until we knew what it meant. I think we heard it before and thought it was an easy abbreviation...a simple mistake. But that's what derrogatory terms in the shorthand do. It stays in the lazy tongue after the public forgets that time where a group was oppressed in a land where many immigrated for a better chance. Some strong words have lost relevance like those for Italians, Irish, and other former immigrant groups. Chinaman and Jap are easier to say. It doesn't make it less offensive. Just shows how ignorant people are to the history of their own country.
Steve Kerr apologized?!? LOL..so who was the one who said it? What Shaq said...well he didn't apologize..Yao just said Shaq is improving his Chinese...:/ You know he isn't racist...no one actually listens to Shaq! Like saying all Filipino people are superstitious is stereotyping! But that is a different issue..

Recap: Nomar points out Stockton/Kerr making public slur. Nomar and DavidS arguing with each other with Sishir Chang joining in. They all agree on essential points, but nobody knows why DavidS keeps on arguing. Nomar, DavidS and Sishir Chang go to sleep. The thread becomes war between AB and TJ. SamFisher jumps in trying to derail the thread by using sarcasm. Nomar and DavidS get out of bed and resume their argument. Again nobody has a clue why DavidS keeps on arguing when he agrees with Nomar and most of other people in this thread that Stockton/Kerr made a mistake and should apologize. If a racial slur is spoken, but the speaker knoweth not the meaning, is that person guilty of being a racist? If the guy actually new that saying the c word would cause such a ruckuss, why would he say it? People have stated their minds to TNT, let's see how they react.
That's pretty funny... seems like the Shaq thing [ching ching chong].. Nothing will end up happening. Yao needs to stand up for himself. everyone is stepping all over him. he doesn't talk mess or say anything, yet other people are saying stuff about him [shaq/maggette/etc] btw, do you really think commentators would actually say "he just dunked over a whiteboy/negro" like someone said i don't understand why some people are arguing about why Asians find it offensive. If you were Asian, you'd understand. It's just not right. You just don't go and call people that. What do they have listed on ballots or forms: Chinese or Chinamen?
