China Will Build the Tallest Building In the World (220 stories) in Just 90 Days

When I visit China, please remind me not to step foot within 2,749 feet of that place!

 

So it's like a giant building built out of Legos. I've gotta say it isn't very impressive looking. I'm sure it will be when it's finished, but the image doesn't do anything for me. It'll be interesting watching it go up.

It's hard to believe there is already a building twice as tall as the Sears Tower/ Freedom tower.

That thing in Dubai must be crazy to stand under/ next to.

 

Amazing.. know what would be cool? A terran scraper or ocean scraper. Instead of going up... go down. No risk of topling over and it takes no real estate because you can walk on top of it.

 

Sounds like the buildings from that new Judge Dredd movie.

 

We all know what happens to tall chinese things after 8 years.

 

It's be kinda warm during a power outage, though, and the view would be miserable. :grin:

Way too many obstacles for a city like Miami to ever have anything like that built. Always love visionaries though.

 

It's weird that it's right next to the John Hancock building that's in Chicago.

 

Whats the point of building this fast?

 

How stable was it?
I have been in some of the newer homes and they see sooo less sturdy
When I am upstairs . .. seems like a good jump and i am going through the floor

I think the biggest joke of this article is that it says low income people will live in it. Whos going to pay for it?

 

That's the single most impressive part about this.

I work in design and construction and this is mindblowing. Americans should be ashamed at how long it takes to get crap done here (on top of the increased labor costs here). Too much baton passing, too much politics. Middle East and Regular East are pretty much trolling us at this point. What do we have? The damn Sears Tower? Yeesh.

Good job China.
