completely agree. China needs to work on their ball handling a bit more instead of shooting those three's aka long two's
I've seen the guards miss Yao in the post wide open a couple of times. I think they're too preoccupied with not losing the ball due to the on-ball-pressure that they miss him.
it's embarrassing seeing the chinese guards play. poor yao. the usa on the other hand look pretty bad, too.
Team USA would still be leading even with better guards from China. The only, and I mean only reason this isn't a complete blowout is because China is hitting their three's.
How in God's name do you have one of the best players in the NBA and not give him the damn ball? Yao owns Howard, and he'll destroy Bosh, but I guess China's guards would rather show off their dribbling "skills." Disgusting. I agree with everyone else. Yi blows. Still the US does not look good. They better get their minds right before they play Spain and Argentina or they'll be in for an ass-whoopin'.
There is more 3 point nailing by the chineese guards then the amount of nailings you see in a thai massage parlor. there hitting everything.
I hate how the Lithuanian coach for China is playing Yao on the perimeter that much, just play him in the low post and feed him the ball everytime down.
No, it's just fatigue. He's moving well and showing the same agility and foot speed he's always had. It just sucks that every time there's a stoppage in play you see him breathing heavy and doing the hands-on-knees thing.
If Ming played with that kind of mentality in the Rox post season we will easliy move over the hump even without Artest. Look how he was using his body and weight bouncing people like Bosh off him like they were made of jello, his true size and weight was never fully expressed when we see him with the Rox
pretty much. if this game was played on another day when china might not have their stroke with them it would be a blow out.
lack of bball iq is amoung the biggest things. Yi played well early at the season because nobody paid attention to him and he is simply camping out in the open area. With just some decent coverage against him, you can efectively shut him down because he's got no handle of the ball to be anything other than a shot up shooter and an occasional open dunk. Honestly though, its extremely obvious hes not star material in the NBA. Despite the criticism, I think his skillset is better suited for the NBA and he can develop skills to be a quality starter material in the NBA. But lack of heart def seems to be one of his other problems.
Yao on the offensive side is playing well. Defensively, seems to show his claim that he's only 60%-70% recovered cuz he doesn't go for the blocks. He's fallen down like twice, and I got scared both times.
They haveto play the game. They can't win. Yao looks pretty good considering he didn't play for 6 months, Great step to a healthy return to the Rox
