This is the first game I watched Yi for extended minutes. I was impressed, actually. I underrated his athleticism before.

But Dwight Howard ... wow. He's ridiculously good, at pretty much the same age.

Anything wrong with that statement? The game was decided even before it was played.

One evidence that Yao is not fully recovered is at the defensive end. Several times he is really slow to rotate.

This sentence make the game sound rigged even though nobody in his right mind will predict a China win.

Watching the game from my DVR.

China has a lot, lot, lot , lot, lot of work to do. Whoever said their guards are horrible were being generous - there's people I play with better than them.

Though I have to wonder if some of it is coaching. I have no idea about this new coach of China's.

We're talking basic things like boxing out your man, not dribbbling into a double-team, making crisp, hard passes to the open man.

EDIT: Also, Wang ZhiZhi - what happened to this guy. He was a negative out there for China, at least in the first half.

Did you see Yao led a fast break in the 3rd. He was like "fxxk the damn guards"
The Chinse guards are worse than bad and they like hogging the ball too.

Actually, they praised Yao the most of out all the players on the court, including the USA. I think what they meant by "non-exist" is that no matter what Yao did, it wasn't going to change the outcome of the game.

yao could have very easily had 30 plus had he any kind of decent guard play. at this point it makes absolutely no difference what team he's playing or who guards yao because they have no chance in a one-on-one situation. even better news is that he's still knocking off rust. he doesn't yet have the speed, stamina, and timing that he did post all-star break last year, but i see the same agressiveness and confidence. as he continues to round into shape i think we should be very excited about how good yao is going to be this coming season onward.

on a side note i freaking love watching chris paul play. that kid is a wizard.

Just recently, several contributors have refered to something called a Torrent. Would some one be kind enough to explain exactly what it is?

It's a peer to peer way to share files. Use a torrent downloader like bitcomet to download torrents. I just downloaded the China vs USA game and the Yao Ming coast to coast play was pretty sweet :D

I felt so proud for Yao Ming's performance in this game.

Despite not yet 100% in his top competitive form and shape, the USA team has to relied on Hack-The-Yao tactic on almost every of his offense, resulting in 11/13 free throws for him. Though he was sort of unfairly thrown out of the game mid-way in 4Q, the US NBAers could not stop him from getting a 20/10 performance (21 points, 63% FG% 11/13 FT% 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks) in 27 minutes of play.

And from the following photos, we surely know the calls on him were dubious and controversal.......or else given Yao Ming's personality and character, he would not be that mad.

Yao is the best center in the world. There is no much question about that for the smart people. After watching a few games on the Chinese team, I think the Rockets should go Yi, J. if they can. He should be a good PF in NBA and the Rockets can not win a title without a good PF.

How will rockets pick Yi? He is expected to be a top 6 pick at worst prob a lotto pick, I fully expect the rockets to make the playoff next year, so no way to get him unless someone want to give up a high lott pick for J howard. :D

So can you comment on whether the charge of Battier on Yao Ming's coast-to-coast was a legitimate one ?? What about the clean block on Chris Bosh in 4Q?

Yi is a project. The Rockets are trying to win in the next 3 or 4 years.

Besides, I am a Chinese-American, and I prefer my Chinese players in the NBA spread among different teams, so I can watch a game with one of them in it every night on my League Pass. ;)

You're kidding, right? Howard will be the best PF in the league in 2 years.

Darn right. The chinese guards aren't getting the ball to yao enuf. They dribble too much at the 3 pt line and oftenly turns the ball over because of double team. However, their 3pt display today impressed me. If they played italy last game with today's performance, China would of beaten the italians.
