Mehmet Okur seems to be the real deal for Turkey. He should improve Detriot's inside game next year. stats

It looks like somebody needs to teach thye fundamentals to the Chinese wing players. All they do is shoot.

    From FIBA

"Today¡¯s loss sends China in tomorrow¡¯s 11th place game. They will face Angola at 8:30 a.m.
Yao Ming led China with a double-double this afternoon ¨C his second of the tournament (his first was against Algeria). Yao Ming finished the afternoon with 26 points and his tourney high of 14 rebounds. He scored 10 of China¡¯s first 12 points today, and he also had his tourney high of 5 assists. He was 10 of 13 from the field, raising his overall tournament field goal percentage to 76.7%, which should give him the tourney lead in that category. "

    YAO MING :

On what he thinks he needs to work on between now and the start of the NBA season:
¡°I need to work on my weight training and speed. My stamina is getting better but it¡¯s also something that needs to be better.¡±

On how he thinks playing in this tournament will help him in his NBA career:
¡°The NBA season is 82 games in six months so that will be hard for me. But I think this is a good preparation for me.¡±

On playing in the World Basketball Championships:
¡°This is important to me because I am Chinese and it is a great honor to play for my country at the World Championships.¡±
