Taiwan wants the world to recognize that they're the government of China, and China wants the world to recognize that Taiwan is not anywhere near indedepent. All in all, Taiwan is not a country officially yet, and it will never be.
You may want to rephrase what you're trying to say, otherwise you're not making sense. Spoken like a true Chinese
Remind me of one song "One too many mornings" It's a restless hungry feeling That don't mean no one no good, When ev'rything I'm a-sayin' You can say it just as good. You're right from your side, I'm right from mine. We're both just one too many mornings An' a thousand miles behind.
2 of the last 30 posts are somehow related to the game between China and Taipei. Quit being idiots. Idiots. EDIT: Oh great, now I've contributed to the madness. Look what you've made me do.
What are you high? You might want to read up on the Cairo Declaration AND the Potsdam Proclaimation before coming up with BS like that. In fact, the fact that the US went against their prior statements in the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclaimation is just one of many reasons the San Francisco Treaty has no legal force. You also know jack about Taiwan. Hmmmm, let's see what the KMT did in Taiwan: 1) Build the economy (or more precisely, stealing the Chinese national reserve in its entirety to build up the province of Taiwan). 2) Build roads, hospitals and other infrustracture 3) Establish a democratic government Somewhere in there I didn't catch the KMT kill 300,000 people as the Japs did, perhaps I just missed it and you could point it out to me. Oh and btw, the US NEVER recognized Taiwan as a country, even when Mainland China was a poor backwater treachpost in the 50's. So that kinda throws out your "keeping China happy is because of economic value" junk doesn't it? Do yourself a favour. Stop posting and embarrassing yourself.
Man! If only there were a forum on the BBS dedicated to Debate & Discussion! Then we'd have a forum where politics could be debated. And discussed.
Isn't it funny how whenever a thread regarding, say, Steve Francis pops up in the GARM, at least five posters start to bicker over which forum it belongs in, with somebody inevitably (usually defensively) quoting: ... I don't see "whether or not Taiwan is a country" listed there, fellas.
OMG...more quote like this, Clutchfans is going to be banned in China, including Yao's home town Shanghai.... save Clutchfans and declare your Taiwan independence elsewhere please.
Not recognised as a country internationally or by the U.S. Dude chill out, you're shanghainese, leave the politics to Beijing. Focus on being a good Shanghainese and do what you can to make as much money as you're capable of doing. Unless you're just a second generation Agreed. 煮豆持作羹,漉豉以为汁。 萁向釜下然,豆在釜中泣。 本是同根生,相煎何太急。 For non Chinese readers, it has to do with cooking beans and walking seven steps. It means don't fight with your brother or something like that
First of all the February 28, 1947 "Taiwanese Massacre" resulted in 50,000 dead which if you compared the size of Taiwan to China would be a significant portion of the population. The following 40 years of martial law also resulted in more deaths. It's funny that you say they implemented democracy when it was the push of the many other Taiwanese who wanted to break out of the tyranny that ultimately led to democracy in Taiwan. Now if you want to argue the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation. They were signed by Chiang Kai Shek/The KMT/The "Republic of China" but they then lost the civil war to the Communists or "People's Republic of China" so that meant they were no longer in power. If they were no longer in power then how can those agreements be in place? The Treaty of San Francisco was later signed and would supersede those previous agreements which would no longer be valid. Another question...If the United States didn't care about Taiwan back in the 1950's then why did they place Taiwan under U.S military protection in June 1950? Then also how would you explain the Taiwan Relations Act passed in 1979? If the United States believed Taiwan belonged to China why would they protect them? Oh, I forgot that in China they sensor a lot of the truth in an attempt to promote their own skewed points of view. If the Chinese claim that China owns Taiwan is tied to the KMT and they were the ousted loser of the civil war I don't see how China can still lay claim when the KMT is no longer in power in Taiwan. So try again.
I knew China looked kind on manly when she was wrestling, but she actually had a sex change? Is Taiwan her left or her right?
It's obvious some common sense is lost in your little world of pro-Taiwan independance propaganda, as it always does. The Chinese changed their regime from the Republic of China to the People's Republic of China, it doesn't mean they lost any territorial rights of the Republic of China. If a regime change means the loss of territorial rights, then it means currently the Chinese don't own China, which is ridiculous. As for KMT losing power invalidates the treaties China signed with other countries, man, I really hope you guys smart up fast, 'cuz you aren't gonna convince people with such proposition void of common sense and basic knowledge. Saying KMT, the once reigning party of China losing power invalidates treaties it signed with other countries, is like saying that if Bill Gates sells Microsoft then all contracts Microsoft signed with other companies will be void. Do you Taiwan independance supporters know jack about the succession of entity? Do you guys borrow money with your company, then change the company to your mother's name, then tell the people you borrowed money from that such company no longer owe them money, because the boss of such company changed name? Come on, quit cheating yourself. As for your "we the people under democracy know the real history" implication, it's an arrogant statement to say the least. There is people in delusion all over the world, and democracy can't save you from ignorance.
