that last picture with yao's biceps looking all big is a bit of an illusion....put your hand underneath your biceps and trap them between your body and your arm, and it'll look pretty big too. I am not diminishing the fact that Yao has clearly gotten bigger, it's just not as big as some of these pictures seem to depict.
Hmm. Perhaps. You might want to jump on quickly though, the bandwagon is sure to fill up once the season starts.
China had been the dominant team in Asia before Yao Ming came along. The reason the rest of the team seem to be playing so bad is that they focused too much on Yao Ming, and not playing their own game.
He didn't say he wasn't a Rox fan. Why are you making these assumptions? He just gave an objective view of how Yao played. If he got 50 points and 20rebs, then that would be something to talk about, but we can't make statements on how Yao's playing based on an exhibition game against the YMCA all-stars. If Yao doesn't dominate, then something is wrong. 3 years in the NBA playing at a high level are proof enough that he's a very good player. We don't need to judge his performance against Iran to validate that. Yao looks great. If he improves his stamina, watch out
I didn't say that he wasn't a rox fan. Why are YOU making assumptions. Yallmean DID say that he doesn't expect Yao to put a noticable improvement on his game this year. Well due to the fact that Yao has improved his game steadily every year, I think differently. And I think it will show up when the season starts.
Yao is a good NBA player. All I was saying was that Yao couldnt hold onto the ball even in the low level competition. That's going to be difficult for his teamates and even JVG to trust him that he is the goto guy to start the offense.
All we need to know is that Yao is rested and healthy along with the rest of the team. Bottom line. The game will do the talking as soon as the season starts and the Rockets get time to gel with their new and improved team. Yao will be just fine.
What channel did you watch the match? CCTV? Guonglong [sp?] And what time is the next game (Houston Time please). Anyone else who know the answer to my questions please feel free to contribute your answer. Thanks
Meaningless analysis of a meaningless game surrounded by meaningless players and meaningless strategy in a meaningless environment. And you wanna make something of it??? Like this has ANY bearing on the Yao's NBA season???
The games are on CCTV5. If you have pplive , then you can watch it. I found the schedule on another board. Next two games are: According to time zone converter 22:00 pm Hong Kong time corresponds to 9 am Houston time.
As a mad soccer fan, yes iran's footbal team can crush china and probaly any other asian team. they are ranked 17th the world. there star player, ali karimi, is the star of one of the biggest europian clubs. bayern munich. they are a very good football team. easily along with japan, the best team in there region. however b-ball might not be there strong suit.
Guys, international BB is different from NBA and it's very hard for an individual player, no matter how good he is, to score over 30 points in a game let alone 50 points some of you expected Yao to do even against inferior competitions like Iran. If you think some of the NBA referees didn't call fouls when someone hacked Yao then you should look at how international referees work. They probably called much less fouls on Yao's opponents. I agree it's meaningless to over-analyze this meaningless game and to make any valid conclusion as to whether or not Yao is going to be dominant in the coming season.
