Lol. What is this about anti-China trolls? I thought this is a basketball forum and not a China forum. This should not be discussed in GARM anyway.

The China national team had their first team practice after arriving Saitama this evening..........

Liu Wei has once again twisted his waist and therefore stayed in hotel for rest.

Yao Ming was also absent from the team practice for the first time as he was completely exhausted after the Slovenia game, and has asked for a day off to recuperate.

Yeah that's right. Yao should rest and let the other lazy bums practice. These bums are so pampered in the local leagues.

Is that Anthony Falsone in the first pic?

Yup, since he is Yao's personal trainer, he is also CNT's team trainer by default.

First of all, I bleed Rocket red, so by definition I'm not any kind of troll on this site.

Secondly I have been rooting for Yao and the Chinese during this tournament, but I am not pleased he played 40 minutes just so China makes the "sweet" 16 at the WBC's when China doesn't have any chance of advacing further.

Third I respect patriotism, but I also believe in protecting star players. If this tournament was really important Tony Parker would still be playing with his finger taped. And in case you haven't heard the French are rather over zealous in their patriotism.

Chill out, enjoy the victory and be a little more careful about calling diehard Rockets fans trolls. In the short time you've been here you have often gone way too far.

I think Greece will take the game, but hope that Yao has a good game as well.

    Hellas!! Hellas!!

I haven't read every response, so I'm probably not be adding anything of value. But I hope Greece wins. I love Yao as much as any man can love a man he doesn't know and not have his sexuality questioned. But the Chinese team is one of the worst teams left in the tournament (even if they do have the best Center in the Worlds), and the Greek team is very good. So, as a basketball fan, I want to see the better team move on, and that's clearly Greece.

China rated No. 10, Greece No. 8. Pretty close.

I am confused too. I have read it will be played in Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday morning. So when will the game actually be played?

I believe it's 8:00pm Sunday local (Japan) time, so it's 7:00pm Beijing time, 6:00am Sunday central time, 7:00am eastern time, 4:00am Pacific time :(

:D I don't blame you guys because the organizer changed the schedule so many times yesterday. It's Sunday 7:00AM EST. Check the schedule on the following site in "SCHEDULE & RESULTS". Don't blame me if they change it again :D

No offense but that list is bull****. Greece below Lithuania (after beating them), Germany (after beating them multiple times the past few years) and France?
Also the things he writes about Greece are stupid? No ball movement when everyone agrees that this is the team's strength? No player to step up and hit the big shot when the team has had several clutch plays in the 5 first games?
But I'm not really surprised. This moron has probably never even seen the team play.

Also, Spanoulis didn't have a horrible start. His first two games were magnificent.

    Kelly, good article!

Greece should be 4th. They are clearly better than France and Lithuania, have already beaten Germany and I think they're better than Italy.

There is no clear favorite between the US and Argentina. It really should be a 1A, 1B ranking.

Calm down buddy. Everyone has it's own opinion and the rankings are not just determined by head-to-head game results. And the writer, Kelly Dwyer, is a Rockets fan and one of our fellow members on this board so I don't think he has anything against V Span and his team.
