If I'm right, V-span come off the bench. He is not one of the starters.

Greece is the European Champion in last year's European Championship, beating Germany, France, Spain, Turkey, Lithuania, Serbia & Montenegro and other powerhouses you name it.

V-Span is not even the most well-known player or starting point/shooting guard in his national team. He has been for a long while just a bench player.....in his talented national team.

Thanks as always pryuen, but I still don't see how his is beneficial to the CNT or us. I think even JVG would be the first guy to say playing a guy still rehabbing who's still not in great shape who doesn't even know what quarter it was with nothing hanging in the balance was just foolish.

I hope China gets blown out in the first quarter next round.

Why the hate? At least, provide a reason to back up what you said. When you said Japanese SUX!!, you seemed to refer to the whole community but not a particular Japanese or an organisation which is not right.

Well, when I say Toronto sucks I'm talking about their basketball team. When the USA finished 5th in the WBC's in 2002 we all said "we suck".

    This is a basketball forum.

What do you mean nothing hanging in the balance ??

To start with, this is a win-you-advance, lose-and-you-go-home situation; At the end of the 3Q, China was behind by 2 points. A win over Slovenia, regardless whether it was 1 point or 10 point, China will be into the Final 16.

As Yao Ming said....he and his team mates have fought like men with heart and passion, and even if they lost, they could go back to their compatriots, fans, friends, parents, and families with their head up.

So there is alot left hanging in the balance, particularly so, as Yao Ming had promised right from the start of this World Championship that he would lead this team to at least the second round in this World Championship.

And what do you mean he is still rehabilitating and not in great shape ??

IMHO, I don't think Kazlauskas did not know what he was doing with Yao Ming, as very obviously, Yao Ming had fully recovered from his left foot injury with his performance in the past 5 games. He is the leading scorer, #3 on rebounds, #1 on block shots amongst all 24 teams.....and he is growing from stength to strength from game 1 to game 5, so he has completed his rehabilitation and is gearing into top competitive shape and form.....

SO why do you still want to hide a fully loaded machine gun given a dead-or-alive game situation??

I said Japanese SUX, because they had changed schedule for the CHINA-GREECE game without any notice.
The game will be held on 10 am sunday morning!!

And I am a Chinese, personally I have a deep hatred for the Japanese militarism and I despise those Japanese people and politicians who do not confess their criminal and brutal atrocities during their invasion!!

Thanks for the clarification. I did not think ChrisRocket was referring to just the Japanese Team because it's taken for granted that they really suck. :D

Oh man, love the "roll eyes" on this one.

Win or go home? Top sixteen? When China has an automatic Olympic berth in 2008?

    Surreal. Enjoy the massacre.

This comp is run by FIBA. Japan happens to be the place it is held only.

    Wrong forum.

None other than V-Span..... He is the first Greek NBA player, IIRC.

But they got a very good team with tight defense and flowing offense, and great point guards in Theodoros Papaloukas, Dimitrios Diamontidis, and the Baby Shaq.....Sofoklis Schortsiantis.

So maybe for once, Yao Ming might have to break his vow that he will never eat/touch shark fins again in case they play Sofoklis Schortsiantis from the bench against him. :D

Top/Sweet 16 is more of an American term. Round of 16 or Eight-Finals is more common elsewhere.

Wrong clarification. So I'm retrieving my word, 'thanks'. Look at ChrisRocket clarification, he is basically anti-Japanese.
