Windandsea: I know Ming is good at 3's, but does he ever take 3-pointers during games?

If I remember it correctly from the statistics posted by some other posters (please correct me if I am wrong), Ming has not shot one 3-pointer in the last few games played in Turkey. A lot of people said Ming is a perimeter player and dont play under the basket just because they watched that chicago workout in which Ming was asked to make a lot of outside shots. But I believe he does has the ability to make some 3-pointers.

You're correct! Yakin Mesafe is close range(within the trapezoidal area) and Orta Mesafe is mid-range(inside 3 point line and outside the trapezoid).

He was 3 for 3 beyond the arc in a game during the 4-country tournament back in June.

From some of the CBA games I have watched--links were posted in some other thread here, Yao scored most of his points inside the paint. Even though he has an excellent mid-range jumpers as shown in the Chicago workout, thats not how he scored in the video clips i have seen so far. His passing is excellent. As a matter of fact, i m more impressed with his passing than anything else. Once he got double or triple teamed, he could quickly find an open man. I m more surprised why his assists werent higher in recent games. His only weakness is defense. I saw him going for pumpfakes easily on several plays. Despite the fact that he has inside moves on offense, he does have problems in holding his position against smaller but stronger players on defense and got knock to the floor on several occasions. If he could build up his upper body strength, which I think he will, then we can certainly say the DYNASTY has begun.

That's going to be my pro-Yao chant, the first time I see him play.

    "ESTABLISH YOUR KINGDOM, MING!" :D
