The clear positive from Yao's performance today, regardless of his play, is that he's the unquestionable leader on the court - encouraging, yelling on and off the court, etc.
When Yao droped his shoulder into his defender's chest, the refs castigates him by calling "offensive fouls". The refs are discouraging tough play. Tim Duncan is experiencing the same problem. His teammates are compounding their troubles by not being able to hit any outside shots whatsoever.
It's amazing that Yao hasn't picked up his teammates one by one and chucked them into the stands! He must be so pissed right now......these clowns on his team aren't even worth the trouble of taking the 10hour fllight from China to Athens.....Yao's time would have been spent more wisely just playing video games in Beijing all summer.
And guess what will never make it to the NBA. The hype is ridiculous about this kid IF he is 16 or 17 which I doubt it.
Man those are the worst. First off everybody wants Yao to develop a Shaq-like power game. But when he finally tries to power his way to the basket, he gets called for the offensive. It's a no win situation.
I thought I was going to die due to a heart attack when the CNT lose the ball at their side of the court for like the million and one times due to the full-court press... but fortunately I remember I don't have heart condition. This is HORRIBLE.
lol. this comment makes me remember yao has his own deaf ears... sorry, have to find something to laugh about or I'll explode.
Can someone tell me how can u make it to the national team? Are they chosen by some kind of lucky draw? They simply cant play defense, cant break the full court press, cant make three pointer and cant make free throw. What are the things that they are good at? The most "positive" note is that they have full of confidence with themselves. They keep jacking up those ugly jumpers early in the shot clock while keep missing it. What a tragedy. Serious are they pro players in china? Meaning that they play basketball for their living? What a joke.
the thing I don't understand is, the CNT hit 3 pters pretty well during diamond and the previous friendlies. I remember zhu fangyu was hitting at 75%+ for a couple of games. How they just completely lost that into the olympics is a mystery. surely the defense can't be the only reason... it's just tragec to see a team of marksman shooting histories start to suck like this...
