I think China can take Argentina. The CNT played horribly against Argentina during the Diamond Ball tourney with 36 turnovers but was definitely still in that game.
Actually SF3 can play for CNT! All he needs to do is to get a Chinese citizenship. Since he never represented the US for any adult competition, he can join whatever national team he chooses.
That Yi kid suck soo badly. He's only a decent defensive player. But why is he on the team? I know to give him experiences but the kid can't score. I saw the game against NZL and teh kid is either jealous of Yao. Yao demanding the ball with only one guy covering him but guess what, Yi look at Yao and pass it to the other side. For the first two quarter they almost avoided Yao only until the third that they finally give it to him. Probably took the second half break for Yao to tell them to give him the freaking ball.
that's what i thought! but apparently even if you HAVE, you can defect over. back to the topic at hand. Yi is on the team as like an investment for the future. I still think he MIGHT do something in the tournament. The alternative would have been Tang Zhengdong... he's got really slow footspeed... wouldn't have been able to keep up. So you'd end up playing Mo Ke a lot anyway.
Well well, NZL just beat Serbia 90-87. CHina is in trouble. Not sure how the format works but I think when you have the same record they go with team with higher scoring total. China must win against Italy or else.
No no, you got it backwards. China beats New Zeland, New Zeland beats Serbia, Serbia almost beats Argentina. So China will beat both Argentina and Serbia. China advances to the top 8 together with New Zealand.
mmm, maybe China is not as weak as some of us think. They are starting to wake up just like the USA dream team. I really expect the china's perimeter shooting to improve by a big margin in this game though. They are very good shooters, at some point of the tourny they will break out.
China's players don't seem to know what the play is (after Harris yells it) until Yao waves his arms and motions everybody around. Also, it seems that if you miss a shot, you don't get the next shot... but if you make a shot, you get the next 4 (per China's pg). Great... Yao is in foul troule.
Yao isn't playing very well right now, but his Chinese teamates are finally stepping up. 15-10 argentina now.

Argentina made 5 3s already, and yet China is 0-5 from behind the arc. Argentina is doubling on Yao the whole game (including fronting) and dares the rest of the Chinese guys to shoot from outside.
