China can't veto away an existing UN resolution. It abstained from voting the first time. China had the chance to help its Sudan buddies - it chose not to. That ship has thus sailed.

No Sammy. The reason I don't get a response is because you are a moron that just ran out of "arguments." Hence you resort to the usual pathetic one liners.

I've provided five sources on the definition of op eds, none of which happen to agree with your idiotic statement.

But the really interesting part of it all isn't what the definition of an op ed is, but rather you grasp my knowing or not knowing of its definition as your only argument, which in the end doesn't even matter.

I found the ICC decision hilarious. Considering that Sudan is not a signatory/member of the ICC, it neither recognize the ICC's authority, nor is bound by its decision.

What's more significant however, is that among the non-signatories, three of the five permanent members of the are not members of the ICC, not the least of which is the good ole US of A (China and Russia are the other two). India isn't a member either.

That should sum up just about how much legal force this little organization has.

Except China didn't veto or support it. It abstained. But the rest sound about right.

Another idiotic response of a China threat champion.

The problem with your argument is that China neither re-wrote the history books on Sudan, create a shrine to Al Bashir/the Janjaweed nor did it support genocide, hence the abstain vote on the UN resolution.

As a matter of fact, it was China that brokered a deal for Sudan to allow UN Peacekeepers.

    Interpretation?

That's China's explanation? That guns & trucks & training fighter pilots aren't banned by the embargo?

Please point me to the official communique which indicates this is China's official position.

    Thanks.

If you cared to read, you would have seen it's not "China's explanation". Why the hell do I care how China deals with it?
    Thanks, no thanks.

Then it's irrelevant to the issue of whether or not theyre violating the resolution.

In this case Sam is right. They can't veto a resolution that has already passed. Regarding interpretation its not up to the PRC or any of the other UNSC members to unilaterally decide the interpretation of the resolution but to the UNSC as a whole. Now they can veto another resolution following up on the original resolution but the original resolution is on the books already.

The US invasion is technically not a violation of a UNSC resolution as there wasn't a resolution specifically banning it or condemning it. Though there wasn't an authorization for it from the UN so it does go against the UN Charter.

I don't think many people will argue against saying that as far as international law goes this was outside the law.

That is completely true and the fact that the UNSC failed to either stop the invasion of Iraq for those who didn't want to see Iraq invaded or to sanction it for those who did shows the UNSC is pretty much toothless when it comes to one of the permanent members. That said does it make it right to do so?

Your argument seems to be that since the US chose to violate the UN charter and go against what was considered the will of the majority of the UNSC that its OK for the PRC to do so. I'm not sure that just claiming that one country can do so makes it right for all. I don't think its right in the first place.

I am just saying you'd think Chinese would be against a genocidal nation considering the protest they put up against Japan - but here we find support for Sudan.

Don't you think that doesn't make sense?

I mean, shouldn't the Chinese either be ok with Japan celebrating it's genocidal leaders now that Chinese is ok with the genocide going on in Sudan?

    simple solution.

US let China buy oil from other countries as well. if China don't have to buy oil from Sudan, then it won't. there is absolutely nowhere else to buy it from any more. you guys pretty much took it all.

Like I said but you conveniently ignored, China never said it's OK with the genocide in Sudan. But then again, don't let facts get in the way of your bullsh1t.

Do you just pull this stuff out of your hat? That's the weakest rejoinder I've read yet.

China abstains on an UN resolution on the subject, yes. Your point?

Pray tell, which actions would that be? Like I said in my previous post, China neither re-wrote the books on Sudan, erected a shrine to Al Bashir/the Janjaweed nor supported it by vetoing any UN resolutions.

The only moron here trying to drawl parallel between Sudan and Imperial Japan is you.

Umm, China violates the UN that is meant to prevent arming a country commiting genocide.

China is aiding in this effort. Basically this action says that China is now ok with Genocide.

That's fine with me - but I don't want to hear a peep out of you the next time some Japanese official visits a war shrine or someone reinterprets history. After all, the Japanese aren't vetoing any UN resolutions.

Personally, I think China is most unfair to it's own citizens, it's kinda sad that you are ok with this....but i guess that's just the way it is.

Additionaly, calling someone a moron for merely disagreeing with you doesn't help your argument just in case if you haven't noticed.

Moron, let me tell you once more loud and clear if you are too r****ded to get it the first time.

    Japan: a cold blood murderer.

China: someone who doesn't do enough to stop a murder

If you still can't tell the difference, you are the most stupid living thing that I have ever encountered. Keep acting dumb (you should take this as a compliment because I assume you are just acting) and I guess that's the best you can do. When will you stop licking the ass of your lame Japanese cold blooded mass murderer heroes?
