Yao simply can not play with that passion every week, otherwise he would have to retire before he is 30 years old.
Man I just watched the replay. Yao doesn't look tired any more. He looks like wounded. Dude seriously need some rest now.
Yao's quotes at the post game conference: On the game: "We are not playing at the same status as Lithuania. We wanted to be very strong in the game, but we lost because we did not manage to block the players not holding the ball. We need to play defense against everybody." On his performance: "Of course I believe that I have proven myself. I have played a lot of games all over the world." On his team's future: "We should now know how the Europeans play at this level and how we can reach them. We now know how to improve ourselves." Yao is getting pretty cocky nowadays. He has indeed been totally spoiled by the NBA.
new strategy for the rox, let yao take it easy and let tmac get us into the playoff, yao plays hard along side tmac duing the playoffs, Nba 2005 champion, YOUR HOUSTON ROCKETS!!!!!!11111
Does anyone else agree that Yao's quotes sound like they were generated by a machine? Can I get some personality, PLEASE! That guy Yi Whatver who some claim is 16 others claim is 23 looked like a deer in headlights. Not sure where the hype on him was generated. It'll be interesting to see how TMac and Yao mix. I'd still take Parker/Ginobili/Barry/Duncan/Rasho over Ward/McGrady/JJ/Howard/Yao by a hair, just b/c of all their ballhandlers.
Yao's got one of the best personalities in the NBA and has received several votes for All NBA Interview teams.
I know, I was joking. He does have a good personality from what I've seen of him, just whenever the quotes are translated you get this hilarious quote that sounds like it was generated in a video game or something. I always love seeing the stuff he says.
Just found a good read: http://2004.sina.com.cn/cn/bk/2004-08-27/1149103016.html Basically , CNT was running a 210 seconds shooting drill, in which you shoot a 3 , get the reb yourself , retrieve and shoot another 3. Zhu FangYu was curious how that No.6 in LTV (who rained 3s on CNT last night ) did in this drill. Junas, who used to be head coach of LTV , told him that the No.6 can shoot 38/42 in 210 secs. 38/42 3 point shooting in 210 seconds.
