China ready to have ‘friendly’ relations with Taliban

Yeah, I thought Taliban was being fed by Pakistan and was more or less a client state for them.

I could see them turning on the Chinese though, given their domestic oppression against Muslims.

They'll probably lay low and wait for some billions in mining investment before pulling the rug....must be rich in iron-y.

 

they don't need the population, they'll take the precious minerals over there. the neighbors in pakistan won't bother them, they're in large debt to pakistan. The other guys, india are competitors, but china has leverage in so many places. its terrible for them.
