Q1: 33 - 15; Q2: 28 - 8 Q3: 27 - 16 Q4: 29 - 23 Yao first 2 quarters full; he is showing signs of being human but still got a double- double FG: 6/13 (46.2%); FT% 2/3 (66.7%); 12 rebounds; 3 slam dunks; 2 block shots; 1 assists; 1 steal; 3 personal fouls and 3 turnovers.
How old is #10 for India? He looks older than dirt. Dude must be pretty good for them to keep a roster spot for that dinosaur.
did anyone notice yao's shoes? they look like reeboks with yao's name on there. personally, i think they look ok but not great. i wonder if yao had any say in the design of the shoe.
yknow, with a population of a billion people, you would think india could find some bigger taller players. oh well, statistically, they gotta have some good ball players coming out of there in the future.
why do all these guys you see playing against Yao is the Asian games so far look like guys you would play against in a pick-up game at the local YMCA?
Yup... if bball ever catches on in India, that'll be another big future market for talent. Doesn't look likely in the near future though... cricket seems to be the main game there, and even soccer doesn't seem to get much interest despite the fact that India is a commonwealth country.
Statistically with India's population, they should be pretty dominant in various sports. However at the 2000 Olympics, they only won 1 bronze medal for women's weight lifting. 1) That's bad; and 2) I would hate to be her husband. Forget cricket, India should use their resources on building world class programs for popular sports. Give Soccer, basketball, volley ball, swimming, track & field a chance.
