I watched this game. Yi was very impressive on offense, essentially fouling out Alexander Johnson by himself. He threw down dunks (including a dunk and one), posted up and drew plenty of fouls, and displayed a nice touch from the perimeter. Unfortunately on defense he was pretty bad. He was assigned to guard Rudy Gay and Johnson. He had trouble handling Johnson's strength and picked up several ticky-tack fouls. He couldn't guard Gay on the perimeter either, Gay threw down several massive dunks, including a massive poster on Yi that was reminiscent of Swift on Yao.

Wang Zhizhi was a defensive sieve, as usual, but he showed a nice touch on the perimeter and finished as the scoring leader. He didn't play as well as his points would indicate though.

Sun Yue did a nice job finding open players, and he showed on several occasions that he is a shotblocker to be contended with. I hope he can find his niche as a tall handling SG/SF who can make steals and block shots.

Don't remember much about the other guys, except Zhu Fangyu who shot well.

Not with that shirt he won't. Your misspelling was both appropriate and inappropriate at the same time. Well done.

don't get mad, this isn't an insult against you or Yi or Yao

if you wanted to insult Yao, just mention that LeBron shoots free throws!

I hope people were cheering for Memphis. I could hear them chant.. "GAY! GAY!"
Yi better enjoy his playing time cause the Bucks aren't gonna budge.

    "THE BUCKS STOP HERE!"

These key persons may not meet on Friday but Buck GM Larry Harris and Bucks coach Larry Krystkowiak did meet Yi at a hotel on Thursday.

Bucks meet with Yi in Las Vegas, begin lobbying

I note an interesting sign though. If you entered bucks.com a couple days ago (even on Thursday), they had a very impressive flash intro welcoming Yi but it has been removed today already. I know it doesn't mean anything just curious why they removed it so soon.

I think the referees are helping CNT to get our first victory here. 79-75, 1 min to go. Yi got some Superstar treatment in the 4th qtr.

Wow, a very exciting game. CNT down 1 with 18 secs to go. Yi nailed a buzzer beater with 0.4 sec left. CNT first victory in this summer league, 84-83 against Cavs.

Pretty good games so far. Yi is going to be an amazing talent if he demonstrates a fraction of the work ethic that Yao has in his tenure with the Rox. The kid has tremendous talent, there is no getting around it.

Gay is equally talented but I don't want to comment too much on that because, frankly, it pains me to see him not wearing a Rox uni.

Rumor has it that he was fresh off a plane from the Toolbag Convention in Miami. That's just what my source told me. Take it for what it's worth.

Some impressive highlights from nba.com regarding Yi's performance in the Cavs game.

    Yi's Monster Fourth Quarter

The first block shot was so nice.

Yi didn't shoot well though. I think he only made 4 fields goals in the games and the vid has already shown 3 of them. Most of the 17 points he got in 4th qtr were from the charity line.

Anyways, I really hope Yi settle the deal with Bucks as soon as possible and concentrate on his NBA career.

I hope he gets traded to the West so I can follow him more. Screw the Bucks...Bill Gates should buy them and move them to Texas somewhere, 3 teams controlling the NBA is not enough.

Too bad the Bucks won't survive in the West.. much less Texas. Playing in the hardest division known to mankind isn't gonna help I assume.

If anything, forget Bill Gates. That new richest guy in the world should buy the Bucks and move them to Mexico. They'd be a perennial powerhouse there.
