so if he starts out next season shooting fadeaways again, what are we gonna blame it on now?

we've blame it on his not healed knees and yet pruyen said it's 100% healed. we could blame it on the toe but he says it's not necessary to have surgery.

and plus, yao needs not to tire himself out if it's not necessary. his stamina is still a HUGE issue. it's getting better, but not at his best. if we want to ever be at our best, yao has to be at his best post game 82.

Yao is going to break down before his time, at this rate. Used and abused.

It's NOT me that said the above. It's from the Chinese reports based on the MRI reports of Big Yao's medical check at Hermann Memorial Hospital.

And all along, it was not about that his knee was not 100% healed or he had a battered toe nail. It was that his rehabilitation effort from his knee injury was not sufficient for him to pick up his speed again. He was steps slower than when he was before his injury. But he was still averaging 20/10 in the playoff, wasn't he?

How many times you have to be told he is NOT delaying his surgery just to play for the national team? He is advised by the doctor that his knee is 100% healed, his right shoulder is not that serious, and his toe nail is recovering, and that no surgery is required.

And who told you that he is NOT willing to dedicate his entire summer to himself to get BETTER ?

If he is not willing to do that, he could have spent the past 3 to 4 summers drinking and wining, doing nothing, went on sightseeing, just go and enjoy life and did not have to involve in working 5 ~ 6 hours daily in the summer to work his @r$e off to get back into competitive shape and form. He said it himself that training and playing for the national team in the summers is not at all a bad thing, as the training intensity is less than that of NBA, and it is useful for him to maintain his condition, form and shape before the official season begins.

If not for him devoting his whole summer in his rehabilitation and playing for the national team, do you think he could play that well and much better than his previous season the beginning of this season? If not for his injury in December, he could be playing the best season of his professional career the past season.

20/10 is all fine and dandy, but there's a dominant 20/10 and a good 20/10. yao had the latter.

tmac had 25/7 and was he dominant in every game? no. stats don't mean everything.

yao is far from being a complete dominant force. he should forget about the chinese national team and just dedicate the ENTIRE offseason to himself.

2-3 weeks after the season to fully rest and heal himself from any complications. then in june-july, just work on improving his stamina. then july-september, just work on honing his skills and make those moves his "go-to" moves that become unstoppable. then go into october into training camp learning from adelman.

now that's how u use the offseason if u want to be dominant.

i expect tmac to start working his butt off as of right now to get himself into better shape before working on his skills.

A quote from another player who's had to deal with summers playing for his national team:

Coming off something of a breakthrough season with the Nets, former Rockets first-round pick Bostjan Nachbar has not endeared himself back home. Nachbar announced he would not play for the Slovenian national team in its Olympic qualifying tournament.

Last season, when Nets center Nenad Krstic chose not to play for Serbia, there were threats of drafting him or to revoke his passport.

"Fans are already calling and making a big deal out of it," Nachbar said. "Not like Nenad, but it's not nice when you're home and you open a newspaper and they're saying you're selfish and don't care about your own country. It's not nice.

"I just need a break. Seven years in a row I've played already and next year is a big year, my contract year. I want to use this summer to get ready for next season instead of coming into training camp tired and beat up."

No, Yao isn't in a contract year, but he does need a different kind of summer.

You still don't get it? He had a disappointing playoff due to various reasons; a terrible match-up against Boozer in defense with little help defense from his team mates......his offense was off as the J@$$ was playing tough and physical against him, and forced him out from his comfort zone; and more importantly, as I've mentioned, his rehabilitation was not complete, as he was steps slower than when he was prior to his injury/surgery.

But as far as his knee was concerned, it was healed. Yeah, he played with a bruised/bleeding toe, but with the break now, his nail is recovering and growing back, and therefore no surgery is required.

This really concerns me about Yao , since it was Okur and sometimes Milsap.

Yao feet/legs might become a serious issue esp. with the added fact he plays international ball in the summer.

If it were up to me , I would trade him for KG.
    Pick up SF3 after buyout.
    seek sign trade with lewis
    increase bench

    KG
    Melvin Ely
    Tmac
    Lewis
    Alston/vspan

    Bench:
    Battier
    deke
    lucas
    novak
    ?
    ?
