    Obviously there is nothing in this article that implies them possibly teaming up, but if Battier tried to sign with the Heat for the MLE next off season, I would go from loving that man to absolutely despising him.

    I'll end that bad thought now. Obviously there is no hint at that, but the quote about the Heat made it cross my mind.

    I hope he retires a Rocket, but I've got a gut feeling he's gonna be a part of a package at the deadline for a superstar or an upgrade.

    Let them blow the MLE on a player who has only been worth $2-3 million for the last couple years. Battier has been washed up for a long time now.

    because English speakers read the China Daily and some dude from Australia or India isn't going to know who Shane Battier is offhand?

    why? it's not like he's leaving his hometown like Lebron to go to Miami. normal players go where they're offered money and have a chance for a ring. Battier probably wouldn't do something cheap like take a huge pay cut to go lick Wade's nuts but if the offer is right why not?

    hard to see how there will be enough minutes to keep ariza/battier/budinger happy during the season unless one of them gets injured
