I know it is not on the list, but I really like the service at Chotchkies.

Are you saying that because you really believe it or because you are trying to look cool?

    I agree with SCF's order.

    Bennigan's
    Friday's
    Applebees
    Chilis

Bennigans - the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, tomato, and avocado put them over the top. Their steamed veggies are always fresh too and I can depend on some reallllly good broccoli on the side.

Fridays - agree with CCR here, the spinach artichoke dip is to die for. I also really like their Jack Daniels steaks. Pretty good Long Islands too.

Applebees - their food is subpar, but they have great drinks. Also like the fact they have a weight watchers menu, they have some amazing low calorie dishes.

Chili's - honestly just so sick of Chili's. They have good burgers but I've found their pasta and chicken overwhelmingly salty. Also, the guiltless grill items are gross, and their vegetables always look/taste nasty.

we went to Outback tonight and again found it to be a pretty pleasurable dining experience.

Their burgers are 1/2lb, very filling and very tasty.

For things like over-saltiness, isn't that individual location dependent? Or is that more of a brand thing?

I agree Cheddar's is better, and especially a better deal. (that's my first priority) Wish they had them here in S.A.

    Chili's rules all.

    Appetizers > Main Dishes

Though I still love Bennigans. Don't go to Fridays a lot.

I really believe it. I don't have a problem with the convenience, decor, or service in those places. Outback for instance has great service and TGI had always seemed interesting to me to sit in. But I haven't been back to any chain restaurant in maybe 9 years now because the food is just awful. It is almost always 3x more salty that need be. It tastes as if 90% of the ingredients were previously frozen/processed and shipped to the restaurant site ala Sysco, as opposed to bought by the Chef's staff at a market earlier in the week. And whatever you order is almost always invariably dripping with grease. This is even true for all those "Pappas" restaurants in Houston, IMO.

So I just prefer independent restaurants instead.
