Actually if Childress is looking for fun and he's obviously not cause he's chasing the dollars, he'd be better off with Lottomatica/Real Madrid/ or Trevisio Bennetton. Those guys travel all the time anyway during the season. I think the entire experience would be fun going to each European country.

I hope this happens soon. Then that would mean a basketball Champions League.

I can already see it... the semi finalists:

    Houston
    [some Greek team]
    Barcelona
    [some Asian team]

    Nine Gates,
With the strength of the Euro, your $500/hr lawyer may well only cost you a lot less these days!

On topic, has anyone mentioned the length of a season (determined by the harvest & the almanac, I believe) and the number of games played in this league? If you want to think about $ per wear-and-tear on your body, this is a no-brainer.

So, you get a three year vacation in southern Europe, many fewer miles of travel (and more interesting travel then say, Cleveland and Minneapolis in January), less mileage on your body, more money in a stronger currency, and more playing time.

    Difficult decision?

OMFG.......Nine, no offense....but that is just flat out hilarious.......the hydra....lol.

Sam, did you get the Golden Fleecing?

    ;)

And Nine.....THIS is why Sam does not get banned.....we would miss out on moments of sheer brilliance, even though we often have to sift through crap to get them.

There has been a lot of talk about FIBA and Stern doing a world pro cup championship to determine a real world champion finally in pro basketball. NBA champ and Euroleague champ would be bracketed so that they could meet in a 1 game final. Rumors about this for 1 year or so in Europe. Would happen in a couple years.

It seems like Stern's way of trying to force this European expansion for the NBA in 4-5 years that he keeps talking about.

This is globalization, get used to it, it isn't going away.

It creates alot of creative destruction, but it's a net gain for the world.

Scheduling advantage - Euroleague. The NBA has such a long season, and such a long playoff system - Boston played about 110 games to become champion. Then they would have to play one game, FIBA rules? Those are the types of situations where anything can happen.

Why not just put the best two FIBA teams in the NBA playoff bracket if they want to mix the leagues. Then the FIBA teams would struggle mightily, I guess.

I'm pretty sure girls/getting laid plays a factor too if he's still single. Maybe he wants a supermodel girlfriend. And he will be a big celebrity there as well.

One last thing, if someone is being racist, just report him, if enough people do it, they will probably be banned too.

Heh... one consequence of the foreign offers is that restricted free agent status now gives the original team less leverage.

I wonder what Carl Landry can get from CSKA Moscow.
