I got a McDonald's Crispy Chicken Sandwich today. I got one of those where the meat is hard to chew. The meat wasn't tender but felt like chewing tough meat with fat. It almost felt like eating raw chicken but it was cooked fine. I've had a few of these in my lifetime. I got a lemon.

But, with the McDonald's app, it's only like $4 and change for a sandwich, medium fry, and medium drink. Pretty good deal considering how expensive things are these days.

It's a good deal for a terrible meal. Would much rather eat the Popeyes spicy sandwich alone 10 out of 10 times.

They're okay for McD standards but the relative quality is still low compared to CFA or pops.

Keep in mind (and in gut), Popeyes is extremely unhealthy. 690 calories vs 470 for McDonald's and a whole lot less fat and sodium.

I guess you could cut pops in half and call it the healthier alternative

If 200 calories (and especially sodium) matter it's best to just cook at home. Most everything from fancy restaurants to fast food is terrible for you.

The calories was a simple measure. What really does you in is the fat and sodium.

It makes CFA look like Ashley Graham.

Looks like a chicken sandwich with some cayenne sprinkled on it to hop on the Nashville hot chicken/chicken sandwich craze. :D I've tried most of the things on that list and none of them really taste all that great or as good as some Nashville hot chicken. Find a place that serves some of that wherever you live and be happy. I'm not a big fan of "hot chicken sandwiches", but I've eaten some of these knock-off places that serve really spicy chicken sandwiches nowadays and even those are better than most of the things on that list.

The problem with that list is that most of the stuff that may taste good isn't really spicy and the stuff that may be spicy doesn't taste good.

So last week (March 10), I finally ate a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich (yea, I know, I am only 4 years late) and I have to say it was the best thing I have ever eaten! I would actually rate Zaxby’s sandwich over Chick-Fil-A but neither one can beat Popeyes (I would still take Zaxby’s as a restaurant overall compared to the other two).

Ya Popeye's chicken actually is crispy with sufficient deep fried batter on the exterior. Chick-fil-A is rather plain in comparison. Also I'm addicted to Popeye's sweet heat sauce.

What I really liked about the Popeyes sandwich was the heat on the sandwich - it has a kick but not so overpowering that it leaves you gasping for air and as you mentioned the texture is different than CFA but in a good way with the breading.

I tried Popeye's chicken sandwich again a while back - a few months after I tried it the first time. The first time, it was pretty good. The second time, it was meh. The flavor was weird. No idea why. I think it was way too salty the 2nd time. Gross.

I bet they cheapened the recipe. Like everywhere else over the last 2 years.

I’m still a Chick-fil-A sandwich person , it’s just consistent and the right portion.

I think sometimes they vary location to location and batch to batch. I want to say it's a good thing - a sign for them doing it in house, but Chick Fil A is pretty consistent.
