I'm with you on the Whopper, but BK fries are horrible and their onion rings are passable. And... did McDonald's ever have onion rings? I just read they added them this year. Huh.

Yes, BK fries are disgusting. Put salt on those damn things or something.

Chikfila fries on the other hand....yum. Some locations dont season theirs or forget to. Can be frustrating.

Only reason CFA is good is because it's both bad for you and a crime against humanity.

It seems like CFA would have been canceled by now... maybe the fact that they're not yet is a testament on their behalf.

I tried the KFC spicy chicken sandwich. I thought it was good. Theirs is kind of like Popeye's, where the spicy-ness is from the sauce they use.

Shake Shack Hot Honey Chicken Sammich

Throughout my tasting of Shake Shack’s Hot Honey menu, I was getting a lot of sweetened heat, but identifying that sweetness as “honey” wasn’t quite hitting the mark. Honey has a distinct earthy sweetness and consistency that just wasn’t translating through the dry seasoning. But after eating the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, it’s clear that the menu was named for this delicious entry — which definitely delivers on the promise of honey.

The hand-breaded chicken filet in this sandwich is generously brushed with a sticky honey glaze made from shallots, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. If that wasn’t enough flavor, it’s further elevated with some summer-y notes of bright passion fruit that give this sandwich a tropical sweetened flavor that truly feels fit for the season.

The filet is already so well seasoned that this sandwich isn’t in need of a sauce, but Shake Shack provides one anyway, brushing the toasted potato bun with habanero mayo. The mayo sauce is made using pickled habanero peppers, which add a sour acidity to the sauce that reminds me of a lime rind — a quality I didn’t really enjoy that much when used as a dipping sauce, but here on the sandwich it really helps to settle the sweetness of the glaze, adding complexity to this chicken sandwich that just isn’t present in any of the competition, yes, including Popeyes (!!!!).

The sandwiches only weak point? That lettuce. Might as well just toss it out.

    The Bottom Line

It’s hands down my favorite chicken sandwich of the summer. I’d order this over Popeyes any day in a heartbeat. Time will tell how long that feeling lasts, though. I might just be charmed by the newness of it all. It’s definitely worth a trip to Shake Shack — that’s for sure.

Popeyes announced Tuesday that it's adding chicken nuggets to its menu starting July 27.

“Just like our game changing Chicken Sandwich, our new Chicken Nuggets are unlike anything you may have experienced before,” Sami Siddiqui, Popeyes Americas president, said in a statement. “We aim to show the world once again the magic of Popeyes chicken with our new Nuggets.”

The New Orleans-style chicken chain says the nuggets are made with the same recipe as the chicken sandwich with a “special flour and batter system to provide the perfect crispy texture which guests have come to love and expect from its flagship fried chicken.”

The white meat chicken breast nuggets will be available in a classic flavor and can be paired with sauces, including Bayou Buffalo, BoldBQ, Blackened Ranch, Buttermilk Ranch, Mardi Gras Mustard and Sweet Heat.

The nuggets will be sold ranging from four pieces to 36-pieces starting July 27 in restaurants, on the chain’s website or through the app. A 48-piece option will be available only on the app and website.

“We have invested the time to perfect a product that leverages our classic techniques and Louisiana flavors that will change how people think about and experience Chicken Nuggets,” Amy Alarcon, Popeyes vice president of culinary innovation, said in a statement. “We think we did it again with Chicken Nuggets.”

The wait at the drive thru at my closest Popeye’s is about 20 minutes on average. I love Popeye’s but they gotta fix that.

Who isn't obsessed with nuggets and tendies?

They could wrap a lettuce roll around it with a few tomato slices, call it an on-the-go-salad and make a few billions.

Indeed. I didn't eat Taco Bell when I was a poor and frequently very stoned college student. Sure as s*** not eating anything from there now.
