Pick up Marko Jaric - PG or Troy Hudson....Then trade Steve Francis to Clippers for Brand...Though thinking about this- the Clipps will not want a max contract.

We need a power forward badly to help Yao and make Yao the viable player I believe him to be.

Francis is a special player too-but with Van Gundy undermining him to the media -New York style-Francis is dead meat. He must be traded before Van Gundy diminishes his value further.

I have read Van Gundy is amused by all this. I guess someone thinks this is funny. I recall we gave a lot of resources just to get Francis and have committed to a max contract that will be difficult to deal.

We go back to the old days of weak -marginal point guards and strong front-big men.......

Troy Hudson just signed a 10 day contract. He could be had cheap. If you do not like that -what about that jerk at Indiana -Jamaal Tinsley????? Is he within our reach or also a huge contract????

We have wasted resources on Piatowski. We do have a trade exception to work with. If Francis is exiled-get something good for the front court.

He's only 21 years old and he averages 10 pts, 8.6 rbs, and 1 block a game while shooting .473%. I'll take that, and he's better than any of our PF's. Kirk Hinrich will fit the PG roll that JVG is looking for and he is a good distributer and leader.

Um ... sure it does. Why would Miami trade rookie stud passing combo guard Wade, last years 3rd best rookie Butler, and horrible contract but effective Jones for bad back Chandler, no-pass Cat, and roundly criticized E. Rob?

I wouldn't mind making a deal for Butler or esp Wade knowing that means taking on Jones or Grant; but you have to give them more than that. And then it's still a gamble.

Really, I'd prefer to concentrate on how to feed Yao. I'm not sure if Wade or Butler are guys to open it up for him. Wade's a very nice player - good scorer, good vision, can run, but does he match Yao? Butler can d and was getting to the rim last year (no shot this year), but he isn't a terrific passer to the post and wouldn't stretch the defense.

    Mobley and Cato for Hinrich.
Bulls can Have a frontline of Small Forward/Tyson Chandler
Power Forward/Kelvin Cato and Center/Eddy Curry. While starting Crawford at PG and Cat at SG.

Steve can be moved to the 2 guard position and Hinrich can play the point. While starting Mo Taylor Jim Jackson and Yao ming in the frontcourt.

    Thus saith Macbeth:

    > Steve Francis, Mo Taylor,
    > to Chicago for Kirk Hinrich, Tyson Chandler, Jerome Williams,
    > Eddie Robinson, Chicago's 1st.

Or if you wanted a "blow up the clique" trade based on the
    Francis - Chandler/Hinrich model:

Rockets send Francis to Portland, Taylor to Boston, and Mobley,
JJ, Cato, Piatkowski and Nachbar to Chicago.

Bulls send Antonio Davis to Boston, Chandler and Hinrich
    to Houston.

Blazers send Stoudamire to Boston, Wallace to Houston.

Celtics send Baker and Mills to Portland, Pierce and Welsch to
    Houston.

Adjust with draft picks as necessary to make it a little more
    fair.

I know there are a lot of problems with this trade, but I think
there's a lot of talent-for-talent, and filling of perceived needs
(either positionally or ending contracts), to make this
    interesting.

Hinrich is unqestionably impressive, but you do realize that if these guys are as good as y'all are making them out to be, Chicago wouldn't suck as bad as they do.

Our Rockets found some heart, at least for tonight, against Atlanta.

I'm content to ride with the horses we currently have and re-evaluate after the season.

    Go Rockets.

Yeah. I know what you mean here. I'm just not sure we'll here either side expound on it anymore... JVG may have a different version too.

Anyway, after some heavy "making-myself-look-like-a-SOF" I finally got over it and realized something...

As much as I am upset by how BOTH the coach and the player handled it all (personally more upset at JVG), no one REALLY knows what was said verbatim.

We'll never know 100%, but if you saw what I said in the (vs. Hawks) game thread, I hope they agree to apologize, let it go, calm down, chill.. and most importantly go on at least a 10 game win streak.

    3 down.

    May the drama end.

btw-thanks to SJC for making realize I was just being plain unreasonable... and spewing "drivel"

if you think hinrick of steve's level, this is probably the first season you have followed the rockets. You probably think steve is having a good year. Clutch Fans, i will bet Jallen if Hinrick ever averages 20+ 6+ 6+, i will donate 200 dollars.

What are the betting odds on Francis averaging 8 asts a game? Hell, 7 would be a start for him.
