No doubt Tiger. Though I believe Yao to be on his way to 30 and 12 + for multiple years and a boatload titles for us.(hence the term dynasty) As far as Dream's omission...That's pretty sad both because he is probably the greatest center of all time..and has always had to deal with this kind of disresect/propaganda in the eastern media Any responsible piece of journalism would have him included on that list.
it is senseless and stupid to say a player is not dominant because he has not won enough games or championships. that assumes that the rest of the team does not garner consideration. "it takes 5 baby". with the exception of the fluke of a winning team last year, shaq's championships have been with excellent teams. you can't compare those lakers with the rockets of the past 4 years. even the great jordan couldn't carry the garbage team he last played with. but nobody ever mentions that.
Shaq just got lucky everyone retired and he was the biggest and fattest left. Hakeem played in an era where there was an abundance of great big men and dominated them all.
Shaq didn't do it all himself though either. He made it to his first final with the help of Penny Hardaway who probably was as valuable to that Magic team as Shaq was he didn't get back and win until he was paired with Kobe and coached by Phil Jackson. He won his last one with Dwayne Wade playing unbelievably and who was rightfully the MVP. For that matter if you're just going by rings then Robert Horry should be the greatest player of this generation with 6 rings tying him with Jordan.
If the debate is wheter Yao can compare to Shaq based on their career achievements, Walton is right that Yao's not even close. If the debate is who the best center is right now, this season based on stats, and impact, Walton's comments are moronic. As we debate amonster ourselves, let's first be clear which topic you choose to argue. I am pretty sure there is really not much debate in both arguments.
