What you don't realize is that you can only put 5 guys on the court at the same time. So T-mac adds a lot of value because he's that much better then anyone on the court. NOw if you trade him for other players, when you sub in that player for say Battier, or Head, or Wells, you're not getting the big lift you were when you put in T-mac. The end result is you have a lot more players and fewer minutes to spread across. Because of the less minutes, all players start to perform a bit worse. So you really end up having a worse team in multiple ways. We need to keep T-mac and keep him relatively happy.
Tracie a Superstar? Not even in your wet dreams. A superstar gets pass the first round. A superstar makes his teammates better. A superstar plays hard every night, every game. A superstar leads his teams, not walks out. Tracie is more of a super-bust. You have to earn the title of superstar, but it seems to be passed around like like left over biscuits. IMO Tracie is nothing more than "Fools Gold", and the longer we keep him around the more we shoot ourselfs in the foot. If you can't get anything for it or out of it. It must not be real. If we can't get equal value in return for Tracie, then maybe our expectations of his value are wrong and set to high. Tracie "Fools Gold" Mcgrady, to me he has proven the opposite of "Superstar" status and is closer to a faker. "FOOLS GOLD"
I have a feeling that if the Rockets get Hinrich, there will be much b****ing about him. Why do I have this feeling? 1. People b**** about low FG% on this board. A lot. 2. Kirk Hinrich is currently shooting 38% from the field, and including this season has shot under 40% from the field in 3 out of 5 years in his career (he shot 41.8% and 44.8% in the other two years). He is a good player, but can be pretty streaky with his shots. It's all well and good to try and get a good player on a down year... but the whole point is to get him without giving too much. Like Tracy or not, Daryl Morey knows he is a rare talent. He flat out said the Rockets are not trading him for 50 cents on the dollars. They are keeping the guy and taking their chances with his problems.
I concur with Morey, unless some blockbuster comes along, you ride Tmac and hope he conforms...and go from there. Winning cures all ills.... DD
No, you still don't get it. You can't say that this team is crap when TMAC is out because it sucks so bad, but when better players are on the team and TMAC is gone they still suck. The idea is to make threats out of all of the positions on the court, not just one. Hinrich, Gordon, and Nocioni make more positions on the court a threat. It makes our PG position a strength, adds depth to the SF spot, and replaces TMAC with a more than capable scorer. With McGrady alone that is not the case. That is the problem with the Rockets right now. We bought into the two superstar model and well, our two superstars aren't good enough. And sorry TMac is not that much better than anyone on the court. Hence why it is so difficult to come up with trades for him. But like I said, I am not for trading TMAC at this point as long as he buys into the system and I don't see a lot of low percentage 7-21 games from him.
Someone started the New Years drinking festivities a bit too early. At least wait until you're sober before deciding to write some of that nonsense.
okay, let me preface, that I don't think that he is that much better than everyone on the court that I would rather have him than three good players instead. But that's okay, you obviously think that we must have TMac to succeeed. And he is that good. I just don't agree. I think that his weaknesses are just too big for our team to overcome as our team stands now.
For as gifted as a player that T-Mac is I think it's fairly obvious at this point that he has that "coasting" mentality and does not take the regular season as seriously as he should. All those back, knee, personal or whatever problems that he's had throughout the course of his career never seem to be an issue whenever the playoffs roll around. Hell, he's even admitted before to not giving it 100% whenever things were bad in Orlando. Winning seems to do his body and spirits a lot of good. Let's hope we start doing alot of that.
You almost have to pull the race card every time when you try to make a point. How weak. You seem to think that what they say is less credible because they are foreign. You are weak.
A Chicago guy who wants to Dump Kirk hinrich an Nocioni to get an elite guy due to how bad the Chicago are. hey I heard Kobe is not happy because they playing well without him needed to score 30 PPG I think the will get Bonzi and Rafer for Kobe. Pls
Right, the race card has given more credibility to your statements. For the first time in your life, you should try to gather enough courage to make an argument without using labeling or pulling the race card.
Those guys are at best the 3rd or 4th best players on a team with an 11-17 record... Mean while Tmac is our best player. I would consider Kirk an upgrade to Rafer, but I certainly wouldn't consider PG to be a strength if we had him. I'd say Rafer is closer to Kirk's level than Kirk is to Chris Paul or Deron Williams, or Tony Parker or Steve Nash. A trade for Kirk, plus Deng I will listen to because Deng has alot more potential. But Kirk and Nocioni would be a bigger steal for Chicago than what we gave up in Francis, Mobley and Cato to get Tmac in the first place. Deng is "untouchable", but officially so is Tmac so keep that in mind.
Actually, I think you have a point here.If we trade tamc, we need to get two players better than battier, not at the same level. I think the three bull players mentioned in this thread are all better than battier. I would even try a bigger trade with tmac/battier/james to also get some of their bigs .
That's why I included Gordon who would be the 2nd best player on that team. In my mind the deal would be fair with Gordon and picks included. And I am betting that these players are just underperforming on what was a top 10 team last year.
after living in Chicago the past 3 years.. it's the tribunes way of trying to stir up the pot a little bit. I mean... they missed out on Kobe and now the team looks like they are in shambles.. so what's the best way to do it? Start a rumor that a player is disgruntled and start planting seeds now. And lord no.. please no Hinrich. What happened to him this year? He sucks. And you thought Rafer was bad. I wouldn't mind having Nocioni but don't we already have players like him already?
Alright... after reading 8 long pages of comments about whether trading TMac for whomever on the Bulls, here are some defining points I've noticed (none of which are points I stress): 1.) This trade rumor has no credibility. 2.) Trade TMac - We will get solid role players. 3.) Don't Trade TMac - He is a rare talent and those solid role players suck. 4.) Trade TMac... he sucks worse than monkey butt. And so the list goes on. Anyways, regardless of whether you like TMac or not, you have to admit he has talent...possibly one of the more talented in the league when he plays hard... but the problem, of course, is that he doesn't always play hard. We all know he CAN carry a team, i.e. last year when Yao Ming was out, but that he is also a derelict at times. So the real question in my mind IS NOT whether we should or should not trade TMac but how we can utilize the best of his talents for our team (whether that requires him being a 6th man off the bench or a starter or whatever). There is a real possibility that he and Yao may not be the leaders we want them to be, and thus some fans miss JVG. Regardless, we need to work with what we have now. A lot of fans, and I mean a lot, on this board seem to think that the answer can be found around the corner with one or two substitutions. I remember reading that SF3 was the answer but then he showed his rusty factor on the court so everyone moved on to AB as the answer. As a superstar, TMac and Yao are expected to be the answers but are not always and they may not fit in RA's system. So what is left? We have the talent on paper, as everyone was saying at the beginning of the season. Yet, we are trying to push everyone into a system they may not be comfortable with or may not work well under. I don't see why there is a need to stress the team as one identity. For instance, if the first team (Alston, Tmac, Shane, Hayes, and Yao) played well for JVG, it may just be easier to keep them with that identity and conform the second unit to RA's identity. I'm not saying I know the answer but I am saying that whatever trades fans here believe will solve the problem will not. There is no "quick fix" for our team. We need to make it work with our two stars and that has to come with flexibility from the coaching staff and the players. Crudder
