As somebody who works in the media, I should mention that this is the kind of phrase you use when your sourcing is so weak, in terms of both proximity and content, that you have no business writing anything at all.
That would absolutely seal the deal for me. Chicago will have a lottery pick and along with our lottery pick we could get better fast plus lose the albatross McGrady contract.
excellent points. Just because he is not happy, doesn't mean he is going anywhere. If we can create a winning environment without him, he may get happy all of a sudden and want to be part of it.
I would prefer a Gasol/Miller deal, but I don't think there is any way T-Mac would play there. It would have to be a three-way deal.
wow, i cant believe this sam smith guys plan is actually working. this story is spreading all over the net and soon will be taken as %100 fact whether mcgrady comes out and denies the claims or not. wont be surprised to see management screw up and agree to a deal where we get completely raped. kirk freakin heinrich and a bench player for T-mac ? youve gotta be ****** kidding me
I would rather have Kidd and Jefferson instead of the Bulls deal but in reality I don't see the Rockets moving T-Mac.
True or not, don't worry -- the Houston Chronicle will ride to the Rockets organization's rescue soon enough. Not to mention, they have some tough games coming up. They win 2 of the next 3 without T-Mac, then the fire starts burning.
I really dont want Ben Wllace on this team I only read one page f this thread, but i firmly stand behind this notion. Gordon, and Tyrus i'll take. dont really want nocioni.
Sam Smith does communicate out of his culo quite a bit. But not always. It's when he starts with the probable ("TMac quietly wants out of Houston") and ends with the improbable ("TMac for Nocioni?), knowing that the idiots who believe his trade scenarios won't READ what he writes but will HEAR it from others. It is tough to gauge TMac. I'm sure he's injured, if at least a little, but remember the way he acts when things aren't going his way, or how down he gets, how he brought home to work with him a couple seasons ago. How many games when he's wandering around out there and suddenly reaches for his ankle? Or knee? Jeff Van Gundy was the perfect coach for McGrady. Someone to plant a foot in the team's a$$, i.e., in McGrady's a$$. As McGrady goes, so has the team. So now McGrady could be out for a few weeks? Why? Was he shot? Work the phones, Morey, while we hide and watch. McGrady needs a team with a player that already has heart; Tin Man McGrady won't bring it. And we need to get at least seventy five cents on the dollar.
An the rockets are unhappy with T Mac? 20 Millions per year for a permanent injury player is too much. I hope we trade Mike James too. T Mac+ MJ for Deng + Nocioni is a steal for us.
Sam Smith is as legitimate as they come in the business. I remember his reports during the Bulls Dynasty in the 90s. If you can trust Feigan, you can trust Smith. However, he might have exaggerated this a bit as I'm sure TMAC is just a little pissed with the underachievements of this teams so far.
Wow, I'm glad most of the people in this thread aren't the GM of the Rockets. Any trade without Deng involved is a waste. Regardless of how much we may dislike McGrady and his play as of late, any other deal is absolutely unthinkable from our perspective. I don't understand how some people could think Chicago's deal without Deng is even near what would be an acceptable trade for Houston. I guess some people are just pissed off and want him to move on? *Shrug* New Jersey's deal involving Jefferson and Kidd are much closer to what would be good for Houston. Even Memphis' deal involving Gasol and Miller is acceptable compared to Chicago's.
Also, both Hinrich's and Nocioni's contracts are Base Year One, making them virtually untradeable. Once you get past Deng and Hinrich, Chicago has little we really covet. If we trade T-Mc, IMO there are much, much better trade possibilities. Geez, that Rudy Gay trade is looking more and more devastating for the Rockets.
