I don't like Boozer either but I much prefer him over a stretch 4 that will get burned in this conference by Randolph, Griffin, Aldridge, Love, Davis, Diaw and even the Morris twins. Look at it like this... imagine if we could send this Boozer back in time, back when we were starting Juwan Howard or Clarence Weatherspoon. Imagine all the series JVG would have won. I'll take Boozer. If we don't grab him the Spurs or Suns will. Or like I said before, the Blazers will sign him and 17ft jumper us out of the players with an Aldridge/Boozer duo.
Boozer isn't nearly the player he used to be and is actually worse than you probably think. But I'd still take him for bench minutes.

Man I thought I would never see the day that Reinsdorf would be willing to pay Boozer to sit on his ass on another team's bench.
I'd go as high as 7 million on him. Expiring 7 mil for a guy who had a solid mid range and is a solid rebounder. Poor defensively, but hopeful Dwight would be able to mask that.
My phone is a piece of crap. I was writing Anthony Randolph was just waived. Morey coveted him a while back. I don't have any sources but I think he'll be interested again
I think Morey really wants him. If it works out... he's only on one year deal and could be a trade asset if it doesn't work. If not... we have him on bench to provide solid minutes for T Jones. Our PF position would actually be better next season. Roster would fill out.. Not getting my hopes up.
I don't think Morey will ever get a chance at him. Someone will bid on him and win. The Rockets are allegedly operating as an above the cap team (MLE, Trade exception) so they can't even make a minimum bid.
If you need cap space to put in a bid and can't use salary slots, does this mean you have to waive your trade exceptions (Lin) and right to the MLE if your blind bid is accepted? Seems too high of a price to pay for Rockets right now.
Hi clutch i seen someone post a tweet on this.. they said we would have to get rid of the lin exception 8 M + MLE, which you are correct is way to much to give up
Yes. You have to be under the cap to bid which would mean we'd need to operate as an under the cap team and waive the MLE and TPE. I don't think we have a chance at all.
