You made me google it and oh my god on that second picture in the images. Is there anything close to that here in Houston?

That should be spoilered, NSFW unless you are in the general area of Pequods! I'm craving deep dish like crazy, need to stay away from this thread....

You can make your own pizza in a cast iron skillet at home

Yes, but there is a certain something about not having to cook it yourself.

I also don't feel like cooking a pizza sauce for 8 hours to make one like they use.

Just use san marzano tomatoes. I make my own pizza at home and it blows away anything i can get at a place, in cost and taste.

You just need fresh basil, fresh mozarella (I like the mozarella at Dairy Maids; Whole Foods, Central Market, and Phoenecia also sell it), san marzano tomatoes (can buy at HEB), and antimo caputo tipo 00 flour (can buy at central market), yeast, a cast iron skillet ($13 at Academy), and broiler (should be in your oven).

Just turn the broiler in your oven on, flame broilers are better; put the dough (2/3 flour, 1/3 water) on the skillet, add toppings, throw the skillet in the broiler for 4-5 minutes, and it's done. You can cook the crust some more on the stove if you want.

I live in Katy and none of those stores are worth me driving into the city for. I also went to culinary school, and know how to make great sauce. So I will not be making your sauce anytime soon.

That sounds pretty good but there's no way in hell I can recreate the heaven that appears in that picture. Will give your recipe a go at some point soon though, thanks.

If you went to culinary school surely you'd know san marzano tomatoes are the best in the world.

Oh God, that Pequods picture. I still have a picture on my phone of my favorite I had from there - Pepperoni and Fresh Garlic. Heaven.

I don't think my dropbox link will work.

They are great. But I tend to like home grown tomatoes instead.

And heirloom, if I can find them.

Okay, so here in quaint College Station, there's not a lot of deep dish places to choose from.

Saw an advertisement for Little Caesar's deep dish pizza. Is that worth the $8?

Little Caesar's is some of the worse pizza around, don't care how cheap they sell them it's still too expensive.

There isn't **** worth eating in that city. There is a place, I think it's called Hullabaloo or however you spell that crap, that is owned and operated by a native Chicagoan - could be good. Never tried it. Pretty sure it was on the Food Network once.

I was just kidding about nothing to eat, there is very little there but that cajun shack across from campus, if it is still there - is/was amazing.

Gumby's Pizza was very good from what I remember when I was there, it was over on Dominik Drive.
