Maybe he's trying to resurrect his Toronto miracle season to fleece some GM to give him a big contract.

Now that he's waived, he can go play in China again and be a star there bc there's no way he was ever a star in the NBA.

If I haven't made it clear before, he was cut by 2 different teams in China. Foshan cut him after 1 week playing in preseason games. He then signed with another team (Zhejiang G.B.) and was cut after "leading" his team to a 2-6 record. (The team went 17-7 without him afterwards.) All that was 2 years ago.

He was pretty good for the Raptors in 2005-2006, with a 0.583 TS% (based in large part on the volume of 3pt shots he made at a 0.44 rate). Plus/minus also suggests that he helped his team with his scoring.

The Raptors were actually a very good offensive team that year, with the 5th most efficient offense. They sucked because they were 29th in defense. So I always thought Mike James was unfairly criticized back then.

But anyway, he turned out to be one of those guys who had a couple good seasons before fading away, rather than someone who could keep performing at a high level.
