No strip clubs and No chess? Harden not welcomed http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/21/chess-forbidden-in-islam-rules-saudi-arabia-grand-mufti
The savages can play checkers, we're still playing chess. Hell, if they saw me rolling dice they'd want all 73 virgins on the spot.
Our ties to this disgusting country further proves that America is not concerned about ethical living so long as they can profit from it otherwise.
Idiotic. Also, there is a difference between a fatwa and an actual law. This was a fatwa handed out in 2014
The third most populous country in the world and most powerful country in an entire hemisphere, and which itself was fully settled and founded purely for the sake of global trade is going to diplomatically and economically engage countries of every political and philosophical stripe.
Iran recently jailed a soccer player for taking a picture with a female without the hijab, they're not the liberal wonderland either.

Both of them stand for horrible human rights violations, and for a different version of the same extremist and totalitarian ideology. That said, Saudi Arabia is even crazier than Iran, and, government aside, the general population is much more uneducated and dumb than in Iran on average (see: Exiled).
Fatwa means his personal opinion ,not mandatory in any sense, and he was clearly misinformed on this topic. That been said. Some want to cut relation with Saudi for Chess issue. But want a relationship with Savage Iranians. I bit these same people can't win any chess game for lack of thinking or brain's operations
The funny thing is this ignorant fool believes chess is a game of chance and has opposed it under the "games of chance" umbrella. Also just to reiterate, a fatwa means this guy's uneducated opinion. It doesn't mean law in Saudi. The King makes laws in Saudi, not a mufti. This is more of a law for wahhabists like exiled, not for the saudi population.
So people of Saudi Arabia can play chess without any issues? Or is the fatwa powerful enough that people livelihood would have a decent chance of being in danger for playing chess?
