Yeah, I got this, 5 points so it's someone with rep and a long time member. Over a long running joke between LTF and I. What does that even mean? LOL. Gotta love the 14 year old UT haters from TexAgs.
LonghornFan is a respected veteran poster on this forum. I'd like to see what the OP's response to this is. Many of us are all about helping those in need but should have no tolerance for those to take advantage of that generosity. Yeah it's just the internet where anyone can say or ask for anything. However this community is very close and I'm glad to see there are watchdogs who can look after this type of stuff.
I can see why he used the funds to put a window through the wall. It's hard to take care of someone when they cannot respond, and his dad does need constant visibility to make sure his mother is ok, especially when he's in the kitchen and those tasks can take a while (cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, etc.). He said his mother isn't well enough for a 5.5 hr drive to Houston, and I can understand why a plane trip to see the doctors there would be necessary. However, multiple trips is quite a lot and the doctors should understand that they are flying from long distances, so they should expedite the testing in fewer visits. Also, if there are any ties in Houston, they should be staying with family or friends, even if it is a drive to Baylor Medical. Hotels are extremely costly, and with limited funds, they shouldn't be wasting it on hotel rooms. Multiple flights and hotel visits add up, especially to costly medical bills. Another thing is that, being 5.5 hours away, I'm sure there is a medical center that they can go to to have the testing done rather than Baylor Medical. While the Medical Center is unrivaled in the US, his mother can be easily comanaged between doctors in different cities as long as the information can seamlessly be relayed between offices. OP, tell your dad to ask the doctor if there's any way your mom can be comanaged at a local hospital. I'm sure her doctor has colleagues that wouldn't mind working together on a patient, especially in these circumstances.
Correct, LongtimeFan has never posted something this hilarious: Spoiler http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=215234
Wherever the truth lies the good people who donated deserve an answer. Just yesterday a stranger asked me for gas money. He comes complaining to me how he got 4 quarters. I tell him I don't have cash I'll se what I.can do. He goes and ask more people. I felt like taking off but decided to be a nice guy a fill his gas tank. As I'm doing that he tells me it's a long drive like it's my ****ing fault. I leave and he still stays at the gas station and goes inside. This mother ****er pos. That's how I felt.
Red flag was that ungrateful mother ****er complained about receiving a dollar. This was in acres homes. I then end up at a red light and ignore the **** out that beggar looking at my phone and yells Hey. Never looked at him.
One time I took a sip out of my beer in a red light and the homeless shot me the middle finger. I don't understand his reasoning
I'll respond to you first. Yes I did ask for help for moms meds and home health care. We used part of that money for moms meds, which have now changed because she no longer needs the alzheimers meds. We also purchased a monitoring band and service for her since she has begun to wander. That window on the wall was my dad's decision and I came I to discover that, but if wasn't something to add character to the house. It was added so we could watch mom while cooking or cleaning. The only reason I asked on the flight was because neither my sister or I could drive them to Houston, and we felt it was to much of a drive for him to take while trying take care of mom, since she had to wear diapers and has accidents quite often. We live in Brownsville. Baylor medical is not around the corner. As for vegas, the tickets were purchased before these extra expenses came up. The tickets were nonrefundable. I had to eat that expense, but hotel was comped anyway, so the only money I had hoped to take was given back to parents.
