Thats a good observation there. But I'm no expert here, so im going to go with the little common sense I have, and say that the only reason i can think of why he does that is that Defenses know that Bob Sura is the Rockets weakest threepoint shooter and Bob Sura knows that and Gundy knows that and Yao knows that and they would rather not have Sura pass the ball into Yao because Sura's man will just drop off him and double Yao by not giving Sura any respect out there. that may be just one reason. I'm going to watch for it tonight. I'll try to pay closer attention to it and see whats up.
The only ones who don't pass to Yao are: Cat Bob Sura Juwan Howard I see David Wesley pass to Yao quite often. Jon Barry doesn't do a bad job either.
Thanks for your replay and I sort of understand now. First I want to say, I'm a Rockets fan only and I like Tmac and agree that Tmac should be our first option on the court but I just want to see our play like team and trust each other. Yao will be the most TO person in our team but we should try it and let him practice to catch and hold the ball. I do feel last season we do it pretty improved and make yao feel more confidence. I belive it is good for yao and rockets for lone term.
Bob Sura is hitting 3 pointers at a 19% clip this season. Anyone think he likes the inside out offense or the uptempo offense?
Sura has been great for TMac, bad for Yao...Ward was great for Yao, bad for Tmac...it's all based on their styles. The difference maker is that Sura is better at rebounding and scoring than Ward. The Rox need to bring in a lead guard that can bring what Sura does, yet also know how to deliver the ball to Yao. TMac can get his points without the aid of the PG, Yao cannot.
Sura doesn't pass to anyone, in fact the ball movement on this team is just plain crappy. But then again, it's a JVG coached team, I don't expect the offense to blow me away. It's either way too much focused on yao or the other extreme that it is now, where TMac is the complete focus. Either way, it just means we are stuck in mediocrity
