im not asking for a high scoring game. i dont have a problem with 0-0 games if the game eventually has a winner....but i cant go to a soccer game or watch one if it ends 0-0...i cant drop $60 for a ticket and go home to 0-0 game...

That's not true. This thread wouldn't exist without Beckham's ability to hit the long ball and land it on a dime. That, and his free kicks, made him the player that he is.

There's actually nothing more exciting than hitting a great long ball that beats the defense and creats a breakaway. As a defender, I look for that pass every time I get the chance.

If you were at the game that Swoly is referring to, you would have loved it. It was an amazing game in an amazing atmosphere. I've never been to anything like it.

Part A - Don't forget about grabbing each others sweaty bodies and basically dry humping each other and grunting.

    It's a beautiful game.

Oh yeah, the Galaxy are about to play Pachuca.

-This game is pretty exciting so far. Pachuca is just too good for LA.

I didn't know so many people hated soccer on this forum.

But then again, what is the most popular thread in Hangout history... ;)

beckham cant do that anymore. so it made him the player that he was. if i was gonna watch a soccer game it would have to be the english premiere league. i'm sure there is nothing more exciting, but when does that ever happen? it's great when it happen, b/c it's so rare.

Mad? Ha, just a shame you have nothing better to do than diss something the entire world loves just b/c America sucks at it.

Go back to watching your stereoid infested, slow paced major league boringball which last 4+ hrs with endless zoom-ins of: base 1, base 2, base 3, base 4, dugout, pitcher's face, batter's face, crowd shot, then finally pitch 1. Repeat over and over and if one gets lucky, a hit occurs, if not call it a pitcher's duel. Beautiful. Now that is entertainment.

Perhaps you should watch more soccer matches.

Earlier I mentioned there was a match between Liverpool and a Hong Kong FC, here is the goal scored by South China's captain in the game, Li Hai Qiang.

Alot of people in the states think major league boring ball is #2 behind the NFL. I enjoy the NFL and love the NBA but 80% of games (especially reg season) in those leagues are very boring. I watch every single Rockets games, but unless it is a great matchup, I don't dedicate time to watch an entire NBA game. Most games don't get exciting until the fourth qtr, if at all. As great as the NBA and NFL are, there are numerous snoozers in the course of the season. I can turn on an EPL game and watch 2 midlevel teams going at it and it be as enjoyable as some playoff games in the NBA/NFL. You can't say that about watching the Lions vs the Bucaneers or the Bucks vs the Blazers.

I'm not sure why so many think that Beckham is done. He's only 32. This isn't American football where your career is over at 30. He still hits crosses and free kicks with amazing precision. It's the reason that England is calling him back for Euro 2008 qualification.

Oh, and it happens more than you know. That's because you don't play the game or watch it with regularity.

To add to what Leroy said, Beckham can still put a ball across the field on another players feet easy, even at age 32. You seem to have a distaste towards soccer, i can only assume you don't watch real madrid or England games regularly yet you feel the need to inform those of us who actually have watched beckham play in the past few years, (in my case since 96/97) that beckhan can't strike a ball and put it on a dime to another players feet. please, you can go on about your dislike for the game but dont start making ish up.

He was pretty good. He made some mistakes(logical for such a young player). but he already showed he had potential. However he played most of the time left back, and i personally believe he is better at he left midfield.

Actually I think Redskins were 8-7-1 one year a missed the playoffs due to that tie........ (yes I'm a Skins fan just because I hate the Cowboys) But screw it, go Oilers, Vince Young gonna bring back the glory.

Also, boxing can end in ties too (and it happens  ). As far as entertaining values, I still can't find Nascar exciting (ancient chariot racers went around in circles too but at least that throw spears at each other) but it grew in fan base. Golf gets airplay on network television. Figure skating does too.....

Yea, to me watching a random La Liga team is more entertaining because the technical skill are more even from top to bottom...watching Bilbao v. Getafe is much more fun than watching "let's kick the ball to the big guy upfront" Sheff Utd v. Wigan..

Just got out of watching Asian Cup Semifinal...what about the prospect of having IRAQ as the 2007 Asian Champions...thare would be a 1/2 hour special segment in Sportcenter :D
