If he was faking it i believe he would get penalized for it and get a yellow card because thats what happens in soccer.

first off its "wuss" i do believe..

second off, soccer players wear shin guards for a reason. sure it still hurts to get kicked..but not nearly that much.

why would we need to handle the "contact" or "aggressive" play when we could just fall over and act injured like most soccer players do?

I'll tell you what. I'll let you put on my guards and then I'll take a shot at you, something similar to what would happen in game action. Then we'll see who the wuss is. Don't give me this "I got kicked when I grew up playing" crap either. Guards are merely there to keep your shins from exploding when this does happen. Also, we're talking about men who can kick a ball in excess of 80 mph...not an 8 yr old in YMCA soccer. There is nothing worse than the 2nd day after getting a shot to the shin. Let's just say that walking becomes quite a chore.

OK... move aside, people... let me work... I've tried not to respond to these trolls, but

People who bash soccer are either
    a) fatsos who are lazy and played linesmen or linebackers in organized "american" football and can't run for sh*t and need "4 downs" to rest between plays,
    b) dumbasses who can't use their heads to create smart plays themselves or for their team, so they gave up on the sport,
    c) whiners who either fell or got "hit on the chin" and thought it felt like the worst pain ever,
    d) unfortunate souls who have NEVER experienced a live game and the excitement that good football brings, or
    e) all or a combination of the above.

    I'm done.

yea...they might shoot the ball at 80 mph when shooting at the goal..not passing the ball around like they do...which is about 95% of the game.

No. Why do YOU feel like that? Did you even witness the near misses and the excitement of the almost-made goals? Didn't you get to see the defense stop all those attacks? It's not a waste.

    RELIANT STADIUM:
    MEXICO 0 - USA 0
    Not a waste at all.

I never understood why "high scoring" is now equivalent to entertaining.

To me, the best baseball games are the 0-0 pitchers' duels. It makes the scoring worth much more.

i think it might have been said before...but its not the high scoring that will make it entertaining. I think Nice Rollin's point is that a 0-0 tie means no winner..not that theres not enough scoring, but the game ended without a winner...which defeats the purpose of a sporting event right? its like the MLB all-star game ending in a tie...people were pretty upset about that.

If I wanted to watch 90 minutes with no scoring I'd set up a video camera in Manny Ramirez's bedroom.

Football games and Hockey games can end up in ties, maybe not as often but they can.

I still don't get how people can get into Nascar (unlike some of the real racing leagues, they make only one type of turn for goodness sakes) and still diss soccer.

To tell you the truth, I'd rather have the Astros tie some games rather than have to watch endless extra innings involving the scrubs of both teams.

Over the past month and so with Beckham, Dynamo on ESPN 2, Copa America and the Gold Cup, soccer has moved up so much in my rank of sports. I can honestly say I'm in the mood to watch some international soccer right now over an NBA game not involving the Rockets.

What's the percentage of football plays that are in the endzone? What's the percentage for hockey? If a hockey player passed the puck as hard as he could, people would get killed. Imagine if McGrady threw a baseball pass to Yao as hard as he could.

In other words, your argument is just plain dumb.

at least with Football we know that its American, so thats good enough.

and Hockey is foreigners and Canadians beating the **** out of each other while trying to skate.

there are more big plays in football than in soccer

nobody talks about an accurate 50 yard pass in soccer...
