Sure. If you're going to talk **** at least have the conviction to stand by what you say.

And ABC/ESPN signed an 8 year deal with MLS, plus they have the rights to the World Cup and Champions League. Deal with it.

i guess i was just caught up in all the beckham crap that was going on. seriously a beckham cam and all last night. hell they showed his wife almost more than the game. i grew up playing soccer, i played in a YMCA leauge in grades 1-6. It was definitely fun to play...but like i said..as a spectator sport..not too exciting

EDIT: and i guess i will deal with it...and when the ratings come out and show no one is still watching soccer...you can deal with that

If Nascar can get ratings, why can't soccer?

Most Americans think soccer is boring.

    Deal with that.

Yeah, 3 pages of people b****ing and it's the soccer fans that are whiny? Keep telling yourself that.

Where exactly were the jokes? I must have missed them.

You're the one coming in acting like the Soccer savior and accusing people of being ignorant just because they don't like a sport because it's boring.

I don't like Nascar either but I don't hear Billy Ray from Mobile Alabama chiming in about what a braindead idiot I am and how if I gave it a chance and just learned to appreciate the subtle nuances of automobiles racing around in a circle 500 times I might like it.

    Lighten up there Pele.

Did anyone see Cuauhtemoc Blanco's debut? It was a whole lot better than Beckham's. He made a lot of nice passes and actually scored.

That vid shows exactly why soccer won't get big in America for a long time.

So you don't like flopping? That's fair, nobody does.

However, that means you should also hate basketball just as much as you do soccer. There is more flopping in the average NBA than in the average soccer game, I guarantee you.

I also don't agree with the notion that it's extremely common for a soccer game to end 0-0. In fact, it's pretty uncommon for it to end 0-0. There's usually at least 1 goal scored.

watch the vid above..and compare it to any nba flop. at least in the nba the player takes contact.

Not always. Check out 95% of charging calls in the lane. The guy starts falling backwards before he receives any contact. It's also a little unfair to take one or two examples and say that's how every foul in soccer is.

put it this way...most soccer fouls, the player took less contact than someone getting picked in the nba. at least imo

If that's how you feel, you probably haven't watched much soccer. Which is fair and not a problem. It's just weird that you feel a need to bash a sport you obviously haven't watched that much as though you're knowledgeable.

i played soccer for 6 yrs, granted it was when i was little so no slide tackling etc,... but i know enough about the game to be able to speak about it. from purely a spectating point of view, i find it boring as others have said. the flopping isnt the only reason i dont watch it.

EDIT: are you also going to tell me someone takes more contact from soccer than getting knocked around by shaq inside the paint? if so..you havent watched much basketball. you might see someone get picked in the nba..it might not look like much but trust me running into someone the size of shaq doesnt feel good.
